IIRC its coz arriva want to smarten up the inage of the #38.

Also the geminis are 61 plate so now all 4yrs old & i'd imagine were probs about due their first refresh anyway. Also anyone know what plans are for crewe's new bus station???

A winsford driver mate of mine told me its moving to a new site in 2016, but wouldn't divulge anymore details as apparently its still in the planning process atm. Be brill when the old 1 finally gets demolished as its a real eyesore & with it being open to the elements passengers hate it, crewe bus station is at a guess a 1970s product??????

61 plates not 4 years old just yet, more like 3 years old and maybe a few months. 61 plates September 2011- March 2012.

I wonder meself how long they'll last before the gems get trashed by the school & college students. This is judging by fact they've already had seats slashed etc etc.

RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
Don't think their will be a new bus station in crewe because the plan for the new shopping mall which it was part of have fallen through. Some D&G drivers told me that their bosses went to a meeting with the council who proposed that if existing the Bus station closes then buses will have to go from existing stops around the town.
An arriva inspector also told me that they will not be renewing the leese on the Station when it runs out in 2016.
The passengers might hate the bus station as it is now but it might be a lot better than using a lot of possibly shelterless stops scattered around town.
Then again, if the government cuts keep coming thier might not be enough buses left in 2 years time to need a bus station http://dartslf.com/forum/images/smile/smiley36.gif

This surprised me today instead of 4435 as most of you said 4436 was here instead https://www.flickr.com/photos/28562014@N05/16216661995/ 4444 also seen as well https://www.flickr.com/photos/28562014@N...otostream/ interesting how they've given us 4436 instead for the loan

I think that it was supposed to 4436 anyway, it was never going to be 4435. All three gems borrowed were at St Helens paint & repair centre last week as reported by motor mayhem.

RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
So Speke had them in for refurb so Arriva decided to borrow the refurbed ones to cover or something similar?

I think 4435 was a mistype, it was reported as 4436 before that. I think the only reason the 3 Speke ones went to St Helens was so the Macc drivers could take them back when dropping off 4489-91.

No, they would have been sent to st helens for a quick check over before being sent on to Winsford. If you look earlier in this thread it was said by copey that Winsford were borrowing three buses from Speke.
