The last time Chester sent a decker to Runcorn was in FIRST days as the 21 was worked joint with Runcorn.

The driver got lost and went down the Busway and went under the footbridge at Parkside and took the roof off

yes that did happen (30054/5 rings a bell) but deckers were still used on the 21/36 after that.

he did a great job with the roof, not one window upstairs was smashed

Noticed 37441 37442 + other 3 lined up in the centre of the yard today

They have the smaller type of fleet number on the side

Seems to be no rush to get them in service

Yes, but no reason (so long as they haven't been taxed) that the registrations can't be voided and new ones issued.

However I've just checked and they were all taxed in July! Very strange that they've not got them out by now....no reason to be holding them back in that case.

It does mean that enthusiasts can get their kicks on (riding a) route (using) 66 (reg buses)!
