I'd say the name is much more widely used colloquially than Aintree. Changing the destinations for the sake of pedantry when the hospital is actually not that close to Aintree itself seems like a pointless exercise to me.

RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot
Most people I know still call it Fazakerley as well, I have even heard paramedics call it that. However, I haven't heard anymore call QS the gyratory for a long time. This is certainly a bit pedantic, surely there are worse things to complain about. |

If a stranger to north Liverpool gets an appointment letter for Aintree Hospital, they are not going to consider using a bus that serves "Fazakerley Hospital". Actually for those not from the area I would agree so on that point a fair comment. |

RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot
Walton Hospital was also under 'Aintree Hospital' before it got demolished the other year. It was always Walton and Fazakerly Hospital. Still is Fazakerly. The 60 doesnt actually go down Aigburth Vale, but thats whats displayed on the front of the buses. Never once heard anyone call it Aintree Hospital. A few years ago you wouldnt of got on the 20 in town and asked for a single to Aintree Hospital becuase it passed both sites, you would say Walton or Fazakerly. Get what I mean? |
