Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire
RE: Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire
Whilst in Carlisle yesterday I was surprised to note in service school buses 20710-12 (K710-12DAO). These were on the 60/61/62/67/68 group of cross city routes. I rode 20710 and noted that it had 2+3 seating and seat belts. These should not survive the inevitable cull of buses at Carlisle with the impending arrival (starting this week) of 41 new Enviro200. Also in service on cross city routes were 16119 18365 22134/37/39/43 and at least 27 of the usual Darts. Dart 34716 was noted in Annan on a local service.

All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

20710-12 are used on Wigton and Dalston schools and are unlikely to be replaced by the new Enviro200s. They are currently on city services as the schools are off for Easter.

RE: Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire
Driving up the M6 yesterday morning, around Lancaster at 7.30 I saw 4 double deckers heading south. I saw the same 4 vehicles heading north in the same location at about 4.00.

Does anyone have any idea what they were doing ?

Thanks

They were ALX 400's. Two were in a gren livery, and two in the standard one.

That's only in high season (school holidays).

The vehicles you saw will have been running dead to Morecambe to do the runs to Dallam School from Lancaster/Morecambe/Bolton-le-Sands.

In the evening, they'll have been returning home from those routes.

Thanks very much for that

There are nine Enviro200s on Carlisle city services this morning:

37086 YX14RXL branded for 60.
37087 YX14RXM on 67/68.
37088 YX14RXN branded for 60.
37089 YX14RXO branded for 76.
37090 YX14RXP branded for 76.
37092 YX14RXS branded for 67/68.
37093 YX14RXT branded for 67/68.
37094 YX14RXU on 61/61A.
37095 YX14RXV on 61/61A.

37087/94/95 have no branding or Stagecoach fleetnames whilst the others have "CARLISLE your bus in the city since 1921" on the front and sides with the route branding above the side windows, a bit ironic as Cumberland Motor Services ran into Carlisle from 1921 but the bus in the city was a Ribble bus until 1986.

34682/3/4/6/9/90 are parked up at the depot awaiting movement. 34681 may already have left as I have not seen it about but 34687/8/91 are still in service today. 37091(YX14RXR) has also been delivered but does not seem to be out.

From the same source as the original post, 34681/2/3/4/6/9/90 headed for the South Coast at
Chichester today.
