Also possible that the MANs are covering for the Enviro400s away on loan to Yorkshire for rail replacements... |

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Not sure how rare these are for a Saturday, but hybrids MX13FNJ and MX13FNO were on the 383 and 384 respectively today. Sharston had MX60BVT on the 86 and MX60BVP on the 111. In their place on the 42/43 was diesel MX58FSU. I imagine the hybrids do get around when some are spare, but it's certainly the first time I've seen a hybrid on the 85/86. Also spotted a Yorkshire registered Enviro400 hybrid on Oxford Street at around 14.30, running out of service. I'm fairly sure it was YN61BFU, so assume this is on loan from Sheffield. Just a quick request - does anyone know the PVRs for the 42/43 and 192? They're difficult to work out thanks to TfGM's rather lazy timetables, "A frequent service" indeed. The 42/43 seems to be around the 27 mark and I imagine the 192 pushes the late 30s seeing as Stockport's batch are all route branded?

I'm pretty sure the 192 had a PVR of around 30 but I remember reading somewhere recently that it was as high as 36. Manchester and South Yorkshire have swapped a Hybrid to evaluate the different models in different environments - I think the south Yorkshire examples aren't performing as well as was thought so their trying one of the Manchester examples [which are slightly different models] to see if that performs any better. |

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
The PVR must be huge for the 192, doesn't it operate every 4 minutes during the day? It is probably higher when you include the 191. And indeed the TFGM timetables can be annoying, the timetables at bus stops show the times the bus is due but on the internet it says 'at frequent intervals of no more than 10 mins'. Although for frequent services people just turn up at the bus stop without much thought. The 42/43 timetables must be tough to write though, with some journeys terminating early, then the Finglands and Magic Bus journeys. |
