The whole point of the Oyster Card was the "daily price cap" !!

Some travelcards also got scrapped, (inc Zone 2-6), leading to fare increases.

Travel is glamorous only in retrospect.

But the Zone 1-6 travelcard survived in paper form, without a price cap. That's the point.

RE: New Buses Orders
Moving on I hope stagecoach will opt for scania chassis buses still at Chester and Wirral single decker wise as im not a big fan of the new enviro 200s theyve just got. 3 speed gearbox doesnt work and it definitely needs that 4th gear. Comparing them to the commanders which have 3 speed gearboxes as well the commanders hold the gears better. Arriva decker wise im hoping they get more. Im also hoping we see more eco city buses around. Did the stagecoach trial go well with the ecos because I haven't heard of an order for them.

RE: New Buses Orders
With regards to EcoCity's, I thinkStagecoach like most other operators just trialled and tested the technology to see what it was like, as has been proven it hasnt yet resulted in any orders. It looks like Arriva approve though judging by their initial order, fingers crossed theres more to come!

RE: New Buses Orders
In a sense the EcoCity demo did result in a Stagecoach order - they have specified Scania K230UB CNG/Enviro300s for delivery this year.
I would imagine that Stagecoach's current good relationship with Scania, and the ability to have a standard body have tipped the scales in favour. The 1 body option for the EcoCity does not do it any favours, and nor does the 'issue' (which MAN have admitted to) that Stagecoach have with MAN.

If so what engines are going to be supplied for them ?

The regular MAN ecocitys use a huge 12.8 litre engine.

Blimey! I thought the 10.45 litre Gardner 6LXB engines in leyland titans were huge but 12.8 and in a single decker as well that must be gigantic!

RE: New Buses Orders
Going back to an earlier discussion in this thread, I believe the Monday to Friday daytime PVR of the 12/13 is in fact 19 buses, not 18. I could be wrong, but if it were indeed 18, there would be a puny turn-around time in Liverpool of just three minutes with little or none at the Stockbridge Village end. I simply don't think that is enough to keep the route reliable and you normally see at least one 12/13 bus laying over on Water Street at any one time. So, it looks like the order will be one Pulsar fewer than the requirement for the 12/13.

It doesn't pose a massive problem however. There seems to be a few Pulsars on the 26/27 on a daily basis and these could easily be diverted onto the 12/13 instead to give the latter a consistent allocation.
