I guess they'll probably get out on public service some more times in the future though, just like the Vykings. |

320/322/323 were all on the 17 yesterday afternoon. (6 September) Recently acquired 246 & 247 also seen in service, looking smart in freshly applied company livery. |

Reading comments on Roger French's latest blog, the new depot is next to the Rugby League stadium, & Warrington can't charge the electric buses up at the new depot, when the floodlights are on at the stadium because of national grid capacity. Luckily, I guess the floodlights won't be on all night. |

62 service has been registered by Ashcroft Travel, starting on Monday. But 47 cancelled from Monday - very short notice! https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/public_t...anges.aspx |

Seems this is the new 47. No longer serves Lymm, Broomedge, High Legh or Knutsford but provides a regular service on the bit it serves. Although, a bit strange there isn't a pre-9am arrival in Warrington. |

Depending on how this plays out and the routes taken, the 10 and 47 look like they could see off some of the Cat6/7/8, which would be sad. |

As the 47 is a Warrington Borough Council tender, surely they believe it has an economic need not met by the Cat network. Also interesting to see Howards winning a Warrington public bus contract, after all the owners posts about the council making it impossible for anyone other than WOB to win work. I wonder if that's down to Howards offering to run it for a lower subsidy, or whether WOB want to avoid increasing their PVR? The existing 47 can be run by vehicles used on school contracts, the new 47 can't. It would be nice if one of the Lymm High vehicles could be used to provide a shuttle between Knutsford and Lymm, with connections and through fares for Warrington. That way it could provide an improved service for the villages without doubling the cost of travelling to Warrington. However, as that would require Cheshire East and Warrington councils to put their heads together - I can't see it happening. |
