Greater Manchester Tenders
RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
Regarding 171/172 not to sure if its true but I'm led to believe Stagecoach have got it back with Middleton Depot having to find vehicles again to operate it.

Mind you with the problems Diamond are having with vandalism at the moment with them I'm guessing they'll be glad to get rid of them.

RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
Stagecoach registration changes have appeared today. Gained (and regained) tenders on the 171/172 (as mentioned above), 217 (evening/Sunday service between Droylsden and Manchester), 335 (evening/Sunday), 339 (evening/Sunday), 375 (possibly the new evening/Sunday service between Stockport and Hawk Green), 382 and 396 (evening/Sunday). However, they have lost Monday-Saturday daytime tenders on the 336/337 and 389 in Ashton (going to Little Gem) and 342 in Hyde (going to Stotts), while the 12/12A services in Middleton are withdrawn (partly replaced by extended service R7).

The list of changes from your link @KXW212 gives Little Gem their first routes in central Manchester as far as I know, routes 44 & 217. I am now pleased to have done a Selwyns 44 while I could.

I wonder what is happening to routes 171/72 and evening 247 journeys. The 171/72 were rumoured earlier in the year to be returning to Stagecoach.

Go Goodwins used to run the 99 from Manchester to Sale before they rebranded the service buses.

I'm pretty sure that Go Goodwins used to operate a service from Trafford Park into Manchester a while back as well during peak times as it used to seem quite odd seeing a coach in Piccadilly Gardens.

They did. It was the 291 or one of the other Trafford park variants.

Little gem have run into manchester before - I think it was the 84a still, which on that particular incarnation ran to Albert square from chorlton green.

RE: Greater Manchester Tenders
Notice the new Mon-Sat 288 times sees inbound services arrive at ten minutes past and outbound depart at 15 minutes past. That'll mean a 60 minute wait if you want to catch an onward train to Chester, instead of providing a well time connection as is currently the case.

A few of the timetables for April 2022 have appeared on the TfGM website.

The new 280 route between Altrincham and Sale via Dunham Massey will be operated by Little Gem Monday to Saturdays with Arriva operating the Sunday daytime service between Altrincham and Dunham Massey. Arriva also take over the contracted work on the 247 from Diamond.

Meanwhile, Transdev's evening journeys on the 6 between Rochdale and Kirkholt will officially transfer from Burnley Bus to Rosso (even though Rosso buses are being used). The evening journeys are re-routed to follow First's daytime route via Rhodes Crescent and Queen Victoria Street.

So that seems to mean Diamond wiped out of south Manchester for now, as Arriva have the 247 journeys, Go Goodwins route 217 and Stagecoach routes 171 & 172.
