A good fit would be Selwyns if anything happened as the company that owns it ratp has bournemouth transport and contracted London services so they have an idea on public transport

Maybe, and only maybe, the fact Go Ahead has registered Go North Wwest makes me wonder and this is what I wondered at the beginning, if Halton might be a Target as its an ideal operation for them to rebuild into there style and it could be managed from Manchester without extra resources.

I've been advised that Selwyn's owners were considering a purchase of Halton Transport around 2017 but changed their mind regarding the state of the fleet.

I think you mean Thamesdown but yes, Go-Ahead did buy the Swindon municipal recently. Coincidentally, Go-Ahead do run route 244 in Thamesmead in London.

On the downside any other operator will be looking at is the fleet and the big with it still been Council owned will be how well the pension fund is,
