Yeah its short for veichle familiarisation just so drivers can get use to it and shown the controls and have drive of it.

It also allows the vehicles to be put straight into service immediately the phase 1 work has finished at green lane probably , rather than putting them through the VF after the work has finished.

Isnt only a certain amount of the double deckers required after phase 1 for work at Green Lane.
Phase 2 vehicles are only required for weekends which brings the requirement down a little.
Phase 3 is probably the one where the vehicles may have to be loaned back to Birkenhead , dont forget it should be a little better weather wise then we hope and passengers may even be fractionally higher than now.
