Normally, this is booked as 319. In a four car non through gang-wayed set like the 150/1 does the Guard have to be in the rear set to ensure a presence , its not a problem on there sister sets the 150/2 . RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - childwallblues - 18/02/2018 09:48 As Northern will soon have 50 of these sets the problem will increase. It should be noted it's Northern policy that the guard must be on the rear unit in such circumstances and must close the doors from the rear set even if it's 2 x 150/2s. GWR allow the guard to move between sets when it's 2 x 150/1s. RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - childwallblues - 18/02/2018 10:46 Does that apply to 319s? I don't think the 319s ever operate in multiple while in passenger service but if they did then yes. RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - jtd508110 - 18/02/2018 17:57 319s operate as 8 car for Northern but the rear set is always locked out of use as the platforms are too short. If the sets have a through gangway the Guard can release the doors from anywhere, but can't close them from the leading end of the front set. Any other position is OK. SD. Because the previous working comes in via Warrington Central which isn't electrified |
