Any News on First West & North Yorkshire To Be Posted Here
Huddersfield Based Volvo B9TLs 37288/9 have been repainted with the "we belive in ...." slogan on the sides,have heard that these are due to move to oldham with huddersfield share of 184 - can anyone confirm this?
Also,Leeds Based Volvos 37023/4/5/6/7/8 are now in new livery onley without any local idenity logos & due to hunlet running out of logos,its expected that next routes for branding are 51 & 6 With routes 56,X84 Soon to follow

37288/9 have 'FirstHuddersfield' above the door too. I would assume that given the two buses were sent to Huddersfield depot to coincide with the B9TLs being introduced on the 180/184 in Greater Manchester, then the re-paint is to coincide with the re-paint and new branding on the 180/184.
Has also been suggested that some Huddersfield B7TLs will be repainted too, possibly for the 363 but potentially for the 184 too.

wont be for 363 as this is now mainly operated by Wright Eclipses,ive heard they are to be branded for Manchester Rd Set of routes,that might explain why they havent branded the 2 B9TLs,maybe huddersfield intend on branding the 184 under there manchester road branding?

That could make sense actually. Something to back that up is the booklet I found on a 184 last week, which was supposed to be for drivers/employees rather than passengers about the new 180/184 branding. On the inside, it has a drawing of a double decker with the new livery and it has where the destination display is '184/185'.
So, it's probable that the Volvo B7TLs will be branded for the 185, given that they are regularly used on the route. Whether that will be the case for the 181/183 in Huddersfield, we'll have to wait and see given that they use different buses.
Well,a few trips a day are interworked between 185 & 181,the current allocation for 181/3 seems to be ALX400s with the odd eclipse but my guess would be for them to use the Geminis from 363 to make the entire Manchester Rd Corrior Gemini operated then they can brand it Every 10 mins,using the spare ALX400s & Eclipses they can help get rid of the royales,problem with that is the fact on a sunday all huddersfield routes interwork (theres about 15-20 buses what operate 306,321,336/7,182/184/185,301/2,363),but then again when did firstbus give a dam about allocating branded buses to the right routes!
another thing ive heard is that these geminis are to move to leeds in return for more ALX400s ( i hope this aint true!)
Had a little trip to Huddersfield this afternoon and the 185 seem to have a variety of buses on the route. Geminis, Eclipses and the ALX400s and a Dart on the 181. Mixture of Geminis and Eclipses on the 363.
You're right with the branding. When I was at uni a few years ago, I'd often see 301/302, 328 or 350/352 branded Eclipses wandering off onto other routes. Probably why they go rid of the branding in Halifax and Huddersfield.
well,Very Rare for a dart on the 181/3 routes,181/3/5 Do seem to be getting a mix at the moment but when huddersfield got the extra geminis from halifax there were went for 370/1/185,363 Seems to get 1 or 2 geminis with 5 eclipses (363 PVR is 7),i was expecting the geminis to be repainted soon as halifax`s got them done in 2010 & eclipses got done in 2009, and also huddersfield havent done the best job at removing branding,The main reason for the eclipse being de-branded was service cuts,repainting & huddersfields large interworking on routes,just heard as well that bradford might be gaining 363 & renumbering it to fit in the rest of its routes due to bradfords lost of 72.What makes me laugh is that firstbus have recently repainted yorks 09reg Wright Eclipse into the OLD livery while huddersfields get the new livery
On another note,First Leeds are due to branding services 6 & 51 Within the next 2 months,one thing i do hope they do soon is repaint the X6 buses because the branding looks a mess now

can not see all 184s to Huddersfield run by Oldham they would have to run 2 buses dead to Huddersfield and then again at night
are darts 42178/81 still in service there Tamesides from Halifax 40871/78/79/42175 still going strong
42178 doesnt see much service with 81 being used for spares,awful machines the pair of them & for some reason huddersfield put them on the hilly 336/7,346,303 services!as for running dead,in huddersfield theres a few serivices run with a lot of dead milage,Firstbuses early morning 231/2 services run dead from Hunslet,X6 Runs Dead From Bradford & theres 1 trip currently run by huddersfield what means it runs dead from oldham to huddersfield anyway (not sure on the last one)
