Ftrs buses will be moving to the 72 route.
The 'streetcar' buses, which have been running on the 4 in Leeds and in York, will be refurbished later in the year ready for use on the 72 as early as October, which will increase its frequency to every 7 minutes at the same time. Future plans is to increase the service to 10 buses per hour (every 6 mins), offer free wi-fi on board and ticketing initiatives.
Many stops and shelters along the route will be upgraded and the Leeds city centre terminus will move from the bus station to a new 'super stop' around the corner on Eastgate.
York's 4 route has recently replaced their ftrs with Gemini double deckers and it's believed that that 4 in Leeds will see the same vehicles used. The 4 will also be extended from Pudsey Waterloo to Thornbury Barracks and Highfield Green.
