Look at the mess of the EU at the moment and im glad we arent in the Euro.

There is some people in Germany still wishing they had stayed with the German Deutsch Mark.

The Euro has appreciated quite well against Stirling over the past year, and continues to do so.

Once they get the courage to evict the basket cases such as Greece and Italy it will probably do even better.

If the Euro was supposed to be a Europe wide currency why advocate dumping Greece and Italy , you cant have a european wide currency if you start cherry picking the countries of europe that are allowed in it .

Why not?

Greece lied, Ireland got its sums wrong , Cyprus relied on money laundrying Russian gangster cash and Italy hasn't a clue how big it's financial black hole is.

Time they were binned and Euro tightened the rules for entry.

Mind you will be fun to see Scotland try to meet raised entry bar when/if they press suicide button and vote for independence.

Another country you missed off the list because they gerrymandered the entry criteria at the time Germany .

Greece from what is being said has not been solvent for a while but whilst there was money sloshing around nobody was interested .

Italy has the potential to rip open the Euro if it goes down the plug hole .

Great Britain not going into Treble Dip Recession and actually coming out with a 0.3% growth actually strengthened the £ against numerous currencies . Im sure they is a lot of people glad that the £ exists .

We jest but i can see this country split even by party line into Pro-Europe and Euro-sceptic.

Lets see which way Scotland goes as well .

The existing £5 notes have been in circulation for about 11 years now and by the time the new £5 comes into circulation in 2016 it will have been here for 14 years , with such a high proportion of them in circulation there will then be a period of the notes running side by side .

It's due for launch on Tuesday 13th September 2016 (66 days' time).
Yes, it features Churchill and it will be made of plastic (polymer).

Some fascinating facts here...

RE: Bank Notes
The cash machine industry is really going to enjoy the polymer notes , a much better supply of notes will be available , we have all seen the days of rather battered and tattered £5 notes , it will take a lot to destroy one of these polymer ones.
