Stena Line are to add additional freight sailings on their Birkenhead - Belfast service.
The existing ferry services that carry passengers are unchanged.

RE: Stena Line
If there adding additional sailings then this has to be a busy crossing of the Irish Sea for freight , but at whose expense somebody has to be losing out .

RE: Stena Line
The third vessel for the Liverpool to Belfast service is the Stena Hibernia 13017 grt, ex Maersk Importer, ex Hibernia Seaways. Built in 1996 by Miho Shipyard, Shimizu, Japan for Norfolk Line and in 2008 was operating on the Scheveningen to Felixstowe service. Despite its Irish name the Stena Hibernia does not seem to have been operating on the Irish Sea in recent times. In fact her latest AIS on 14th October shows her at Travemunde which is in the Baltic Sea.

All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

RE: Stena Line
With the full Irish Sea operation moving to Dublin Port it now means that Dun Laoghaire harbour board can set about improving the harbour for all the other leisure and pleasure craft that use it .

It must have been hard for Stena Line management to say goodbye to Dun Laoghaire as its been a part of the irish sea operation for so long , but the death knell i think was when they put the facilities in for the HSS at the expense of the normal ferries.

There is to be a change to the timings of the Fishguard - Rosslare sailings from a date in May.

The sailings from Fishguard to Rosslare will be retimed to 1310 and 2345 instead of the present 0230 and 1430 sailings.
