I say I think it was that vehicle as I only seen the reg briefly and was ever so slightly(!) half cut at the time. My understanding is that London buses are governed down to give a top speed of 40mph as most of their lives in The Smoke is mainly stop-start. A reconditioned engine and reconfigured gearbox is a relatively cheap and easy thing to do to give them a much higher top end. I'm sure someone on this site can confirm or correct my view. |
