Around five or six years. Five bidders have been shortlisted to build a replacement fleet of around 50 units and the winning bid is expected to be announced later on this year

Services on the Hunts Cross-Southport and Liverpool-Ormskirk lines were disrupted for a time yesterday evening due to a bicycle abandoned on the line presumably it must have been around the Sandhills area for it to affect both lines?

It was at Liverpool Central,a passenger attempted to steal a bike off another passenger and in the ensuing struggle the bike ended up on the track

Disruption on the Northern line last night due to a signaling problem between Ormskirk and Kirkby. Saw a Pulsar leaving Maghull station on rail replacement as services were suspended on both the Ormskirk and Kirkby lines for a time. Wonder if it was heat related?

Considering the present set up uses 57 out 59 possible available units , im interested now to see what 50 units does especially at Aintree time .

Agreed. It'll be interesting to see how many units are ordered - I don't think 50 (even if they were all four car units) will be enough personally
