No the magics are being transferred from Sharston to Hyde Rd from the existing Enviro400 magics

At least one of the east lancs Loyne Tridents is today working out of AZ and has spent most of the day on 236's.
It seems like this pool of older vehicles at Hyde road is slowly moving to AZ as they loose 08 reg Enviro400's to magics.

I carnt remember if any of these tridents ever worked out of Ashton when it first opened but I don't think they did.

Stagecoach bringing down the price of the Dayrider ticket back to £4.00 from 3 April, whilst increasing most single fares and the Middleton tickets. They will also introduce a new £5 weekly ticket between Hazel Grove and Stepping Hill Hospital, which I imagine is an attempt to increase the numbers on both the Park & Ride site and the 373 service.

As regards Single fares, it marks a milestone (or is it a millstone?), in that it now means at least some 1-5 to 2 mile journeys have gone up exactly TEN fold since Deregulation (23p to £2.30).

But yet again passengers on the golden goose 192 get nice modern buses with wifi etc and now even cheaper weekly tickets while in other areas, the buses get older and the fares don't really change. In all honesty I think 10p reduction is pretty worthless.

Its all down to profit, the 192 makes a lot of money so gets the newer Buses, cheaper fares and Night Bus? Typically the routes with the older Buses and higher fares are the routes that make little profit

Apart from morning peaks, I very rarely see a well loaded 192, yet standing loads are now the norm on the Reddish to Stockport section of the 203 at all times of the day and week - yes, including Sunday mornings. And, as it has been for decades, any time I visit Ashton, I will see 347s leaving with more passengers than 216/219s combined. I have always believed that the poorer suburbs cross subsidise city routes (Oxford Road excepted), and if anything it now seems to be the case more than ever.

For once Dentonian I competly agree with you.

Just to confirm 17699 is the trident now working out of AZ. It's today working on the 236's.
