Also a quick round up of today's Winter Gold Heritage Service, the second of which and thankfully better weather than was experienced at the of January when the first weekend of this took place.

On the roster was: 717, 680, 147, Western Train, 272/T2 and 715. What actually happened is that the Western Train had a fault in Depot and was swapped for Box 40 and 680 was swapped for Boat 230 (convinced this is the earliest in the year a Boat has been in service).

Due to the fault with Train, most departures out of depot were running late as I believe the Train was blocking quite a few cars from leaving Depot. This was also of course 147's swansong as it is due to go to Beamish on load in exchange for Marton 31 sometime in the next few days.

Some trams made up time, others struggled all day. 147 on it's Fleetwood trip was 20 minutes late out and 25 late back. 717 failed mid afternoon and was replaced by 631.

All in all a very good day. Most trams carried very decent loadings which is good to see the Heritage Service doing well.

An epic journey concludes for Standard 147

Well done to all involved, especially given the weather conditions. 147 is a very tall tram, so thankfully it has not unintentionally been turned into a open topper! Quite understandably that Marton 31's journey was less eventful as this is an open topper

As is said in the article, it is amazing how 147 fits in with the scene at Beamish - looking great!
