Interestingly the top two overcrowded services are between Manchester Airport and Scotland. Presumably, Manchester has destinations that Glasgow and Edinburgh don't offer at the moment. I wonder if this will change when Scotland finally becomes independent?

It's really the commuter flows between Preston/Wigan and Manchester that are causing those services to be at the top of the list. One of the aims of TPE services running via Wigan was to get Wigan passengers to use TPE services so they'd leave more space on Southport-Airport services for Bolton passengers - that worked but they forgot how small the 350s are compared to the amount of demand.

Thanks for that explanation. I suppose that if public transport in this region was funded to the same level as it is in London the problem could be resolved quite easily.

Not to mention also that the amount of 350's that TPX have means not all services that they would like to strengthen can be strengthened either . Its a game of robbing peter to pay paul at TPX.
