Points Failure , thing is a points failure normally means the points get locked in the Southport direction , i would have thought today they would have been locked in the Kirkdale direction if anything was to go wrong .

507033 is the latest unit with a refreshed interior. 507009, 507018 and 507029 are the other three done so far.

I was on the 13:38 from Lime Street to West Kirby and there were empty bottles and cans of alcohol all over the floor along with discarded Metro newspapers on the floor and on seats. It's disgraceful that people find it appropriate to leave their rubbish on the train instead of taking it with them. I bet they don't leave empty rubbish at on the floor home! I have to say though - credit to the guard who did their best to tidy the train as much as possible before its return journey

Graffitied units 507010 and 508112 both working Ormskirk/Aintree services today - what a way to show off your fleet on a major event. They also failed to manage even the three booked six car workings on the Southport line this PM peak - 508103 running alone on the 16.13 Southport - Hunts Cross and 17.21 return. A commuter's nightmare, needless to say.

Hopefully they get the allocations right today as its the main day for the Grand National!

They had a parasol blown on to the line , meaning the service got suspended to Kirkby while it was removed .

They did indeed retain graffitied 508112 on Ormskirk services for Grand National day which is silly. Otherwise, it was well handled today with the usual 7 six car formations out of 10 on the Southport line and plenty of additional staff in evidence at Liverpool Central.

I make it 54 in service unless there were any replacements during the day. The units unused this afternoon were 507024, 507031, 508104, 508125 and 508131.

507018 is now back in service as the second recipient of an interior refresh. Merseyrail's Twitter suggested the third unit would go into traffic from this coming Monday, which may be 507009 based on recent sightings.

508104 is in service on the Ormskirk line today i saw it at Maghull just before working the 06:30 service to Liverpool. Its overhauled underframe equipment gleaming with new paint and looking very smart in its new livery it still retains its old interior though.
