I presume that the duplicate running has been a success, hence why they've decided to register that journey into the timetable - so passengers know that it exists and they can claim BSOG for it rather than just getting it for the one bus.

A bit of a random question, but can anybody remember the vehicle model of the buses which used to run on the 488 Liverpool-Ness Gardens? I'm talking about 10 years ago or more now.

The DAF Ikarus 6330/6331/6332/6333/6334 and with Arriva 1790/1791/1792/1793/1794, great buses on the 488!

Yes I remember them from when I first returned back to the UK to work. They were Ikarus Citybuses with I think K-TCP regs.

I used to love them buses! If i remember correctly wasnt 2 of them registered K250 CBA and the other K*** RJX?

IIRC they were MTL 6330-6334 K130-134TCP, K510RJX. They were originally for the fledgling Smart routes 222 and 224 along with prototype Neoplan 6400 K930EWG.

The Ikaruses then moved temporarily to Southport when the main batch of Neoplans 6401-6413 were delivered.

Yes thats the one WirralBus! I saw one the other day on the M6, didn't recognise the livery. It was just a blast from the past! I remember them on the 465 too when that was a route. They were pretty brutish buses to look at.

Just seen a fitter attending to a dead president in Birkenhead by central station, presume on a 492/5.

Also saw an UID ex wales (?) dart on the back of a PVS wagon around 11 am on the M53 heading away from Birkenhead, guessing this is one from the back of LS
