There was also disruption on the Ormskirk and Kirkby lines yesterday morning due to a fault with lineside equipment at Kirkdale some trains were heavily delayed and others cancelled. |

It was a points problem leading into and out of Kirkdale Depot from the southern end (Sandhills) , all movements from the depot had to be from the northern end (Walton/Rice Lane ). At the time of the points failure not all units from Kirkdale had entered service hence some delays caused by this to services over on the Wirral. |

RE: Merseyrail
Rail Replacement bus services in operation on the Rock Ferry - Chester / Ellesmere Port lines , most of the vehicles used have been the Cross River hybrids , with an occasional Gemini in the 42xx series. This seems to be the common fare from Birkenhead for rail replacements. |

RE: Merseyrail
The hooton line service was bad today a multiple track circuit failure during the morning at Spital and Bromborough caused numerous cancelled trains to be cancelled , no sooner did they get that one sorted then they suffered another track circuit failure at Bebington. They do say things come in three's , im sure they didnt mean all on the same day though . |

508136 is the latest unit to be named, seen on the New Brighton line today with Wilfred Owen MC nameplates. This unit used to be named Capital of Culture so, like 507033, has carried two names during its career.

RE: Merseyrail
508141 formed the 06:30 from Maghull to Liverpool this morning i watched it leaving Maghull and as well as the pick up shoes sparking off the live rail the trains wheels were also sparking off the running rails it was like an early november 5th! Never seen the wheels spark before wonder what could have caused it? |

RE: Merseyrail
The sparking of the wheels could that not be sand being dropped by the unit to get adhesion to the rail , we are now in leaf fall season now , when the early services can be quite erratic to say the least. |

Thanks for the info wirralbus my train to work which is the first one from maghull to ormskirk at 06:32 has been up to 3 mins late every morning this week seems its that time of year no doubt the usual alterations will come into force in the next few weeks on the hunts cross-southport line early morning services to allow the network rail MPVs to get about to clear the leaves. |
