I've now completed the early 90's timetables. Now to start scanning the ones dated 1977! https://www.flickr.com/photos/lukeorourk...901737390/ I collect old Merseytravel/rail timetables and maps, I am also a photographer. I live in Australia as a Dual Australian/British Citizen. |

Pity you don't scan the whole of the timetable like the 3 group, be interesting to view the whole of the timetable at the height of the GM Buses-Merseybus wars. RE: Old Timetables
The X8 timetable brings back memories before the X8 split when i used to get the train to Southport then 11.32am X8 to Chester, then quick dash from the old bus station to the old bus exchange for the 1C which became 10C from summer 96 around 1.50pm to Woodside or New Brighton then home either 3/3B/7/7A/8/8A, this was the days of the afternoon peak restriction on the Saveaway, so 1.50pm ex Chester was perfect before the bus home before 4pm, then pay the extra from Hooton Cross Roads to & from Chester. Funny thinking about it now, when out on the saveaway with the old afternoon peak restriction you were clock watching from 2.30-3pm to make sure you catch the bus/train before 4pm otherwise you'd have to wait until after 6pm to use the saveaway again or pay the extra fare.
