Crazy as it seems but they are doing away with evening/Sunday stands AGAIN!
Wonder how long before it reverts back this time.

its changed because the metrolink is now here until midnight and the cycle hub (by the baths) is part of the bus station staff responsibility. and it was deemed that these 2 parts were isolated from the rest of the stands . (me personally would have just used the far 4 stands m,n,p,r but then again then the facilites for staff would be isolated) so it makes sense really.

plus last year stand change was only a trail for 4 motnhs to see how public would take it

Stand closure and diversions at Shudehill from 7pm tonight, due to cracks in the road outside the station.

Also, bad news for anyone living on Middleton Road in Stottfield/Royton, as the 64 is being diverted away from Royton town centre via Burnley Lane, Elk Mill roundabout and Broadway until further notice, due to emergency gas works.

RE: First Manchester
Tomorrow afternoon we are heading up to NE Manchester to try and ride on our last serviceable First Manchester Dart (40361) or any step entranced deckers working in that area. Any real time gen on this bus for tomorrow would be gratefully received, and as always if I can get my new smartphone to live up to it's name I'll post my sightings of the Darts / other interesting working as I see them...

Thanks in advance

RE: First Manchester
Tameside has the last "proper" Dart - 40403, you should see the Arrow 31929 on services as well and possibly some Olympians. Most likely sighting would be the ex-South West 56-reg ADL Darts in new livery on 348/350 though.

Thanks...We managed to do 40403 last May on a visit to Ashton (on the #39), and we did 31929 two weeks earlier on the #350 to Hey Farm. I mainly need the T... KLF Olympians, we've only managed to ride on 34098 & 102! We've seen them running backwards and forwards into Rochdale & Oldham (out of service), but as far as I know these have been driver shuttles.

RE: First Manchester
Well..I managed to get 40361 today on the #415. Also on the #415 were 40416/41782/788. I tried to post earlier but for some reason I couldn't log on to the forum on my phone.

Also had 37556 on the 83 up towards Sholver... This sounded really rough! 41788 rattled really badly and and cracked from underneath every time it hit a bump in the road... Was this that bad when it arrived at Oldham or has a few months on the #415 wrecked this bus...? Out of the 3 First Manchester buses we had today 40361 was probably the best and that says a lot for an 'R' reg!

RE: First Manchester
For anyone wanting 36279 and 36280 if their not on their usual haunts of 83s then they can normally be found wandering between Rochdale and Manchester on 24/181/182s and sometimes they end up on long distance work on 184s to Huddersfield

Some of the R regs definitely have a few years of life left in them including 40360/1/71/82. But some sent scrap a tad too early too. cracking buses and always will be. Smarter than the Marshalls. So it looks like the loan from pioneer 40406 has disappeared out the blue.
