Merseyrail
RE: Merseyrail
Not happy with Merseyrail today. Arrived at Hightown this morning to find the 7:06 Hunts Cross - Southport service running 9 minutes late which I missed. The 7:21 Hunts Cross - Southport cancelled due to severe late running but on there website it was services running normally, 507002 passed throught at 8:08 nonstop to Southport. The 7:36 Hunts Cross to Southport service arrived 7 minutes late absoloutley heaving with 507008 on its own. Something must have caused this to happen.

rail at formby, ainsdale and hilside definately sounds like its been grinded down.

RE: Merseyrail
It seems that the services were effected by the peril of the autumn period , leaf fall and its effect to the train service.

The thing with the leaf fall season is that no two days maybe the same , depends on a lot of variables .

Fatality on the line at Carr Lane crossing (between Moreton and Meols) . Believe it was the 23:01 West Kirby - West Kirby service. Thoughts with victims family and train crew involved.

Both advertising units were on the Southport line today, which was back to all 3 cars. Not surprisingly, the afternoon departures from Liverpool were badly congested.

Also saw 507016 with its new nameplate alongside 507033 at Kirkdale depot. Wonder when the William Roscoe and The Beatles plates will appear?

Rather oddly, 507016's 'nameplates' are actually stick-ons which are designed to represent the physical plates that 507008/023/033 have. I assume this is either because it is only intended to be a short-term name, or because they are concious of the upcoming re-livery and related faff with removing and re-inserting the physical plates.

Nice to see the 16.43 off Southport run as a 6 car today despite the units forming it (507019 and 507029) both arriving late with their previous journeys.

It was decided late in the day to name a unit but then Merseyrail found out it was to late to get "proper" plates made so had some stick on ones done instead.

Car 64720 (DMS B From former 508129) and car 64710 (DMS B Car from former 508119) have survived the mass scrapping of 508's down at Eastleigh and are going to be used for something. Exactly what I do not know. They are being moved on 5/11

Expected to be conversion to barrier vehicles.

New Brighton line has been down for most of the day today due to electrical supply problems. Happy Al's have been providing rail replacements that were seemingly running as and when they felt like it.
