This proposal to electrify is nothing new. Sometime in the 1980s there was a proposal by BR to electrify the branch using redundant equipment from Kingmoor Yard. At the time the branch was being operated by Class 108s which ran empty to and from Carlisle Upperby Depot. Electrification would have saved 49 miles each way of dead mileage each day. All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles |

That is not one of TPEs examples - this is the 350/2 London Midland have loaned for driver training. The first 350/4 (the TPE ones) is currently undergoing test runs in Germany.
