It seems to have been missing for a while. 507033 was my train to ormskirk this morning partenerd with 508126. 508126 is fresh from overhaul so fresh you can still smell the paint where theyve repainted the underframe equipment. 507020 still bears the scorch mark from where it caught fire at st michaels back in 2010 so this one should go in next! |

RE: Merseyrail
Re-paints are needed for sure on some units, however some has new vynals after they were "culture units" such as 507033 |

RE: Merseyrail
Some really interesting items there, Luke, keep it up! Just a pity Flickr isn't what it once was. Apart from the former Capital of Culture sets (008/019/033/134) and the present advertisers, the only other fully revinyled unit is 507021. Not entirely sure why this was redone, but it was a year or two before the Capital of Culture liveries appeared and corrosion was mentioned at the time. Unfortunately this has suffered a few graffiti attacks so doesn't look as good as it might externally, but still one of the best sets to ride. I really hope Merseyrail do decide to fully revinyl a few of their many tatty sets because it can't be doing wonders for their image.

RE: Merseyrail
Probably be vinyled on the basis of the state of there bodywork and level of Graffiti attacks , some units seem more prone to attack than others. |

RE: Merseyrail
507003 could do with a bloody good repaint were the sections of the top to bottom graffiti damage as well!! 507006, 507007, 507009, 507011, 507012, 507013, 507017, 507025, 507026, 507031, 508108, 508114 and 508122 could each do with partial repaints, with 507003, 507010, 507018, 508104, 508125, 508131 and 508143 from my point of view are in need of a full lick of paint. |

RE: Merseyrail
Its probably the cost of a full revinyl that is meaning they only get done when in dire need . |

RE: Merseyrail
Southport line services were six cars yesterday and today seemingly all lines have pairs operating, presumably in connection with the Battle of the Atlantic 70th anniversary celebrations.
