Even though it dont comply with the QBP as such , its better on there than on a low frequency route (3332).

Couldn't agree more with the Bendi sentiments. The novelty has indeed worn off: unreliable, rough-riding and distinctly uncomfortable sheds for the most part I'm afraid. There are a couple of decent ones (6006 and 6014 spring to mind) but in general, the rest are a step down from what they replaced, simple as that.

Have to take issue with you on the Bendis. I have never ridden on the ANW ones but I visit Leicester fairly regularly and was there yesterday. I rode one of the Unilink Bendis 5002. It was in reasonable condition, a bit rattly and bumpy but that's what you get with a Bendi. All 5 were in service on the 80 Uni service and the driver I spoke to, whilst not gushing, was complementary. They are of course like the 699 only used in bulk in term times so in holidays they can be more sparely used. But the same applies to the NW ones. They came from the same source, London route 73, so perhaps Leicester could share their tlc technique.

RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot
Both 3313 and 3332 were on the 86/86A today, allocated such that they worked two Airport-bound 86A journeys in a row during evening rush hour. Poor really - the 86 and 82 should never ever see step-entrance buses now that they are QBPs. Considering there were at least 6 deckers on the 80/80A - 4117, 4119, 4127, 4447, 4452 and another identified Gemini - this seems especially strange. I'm of the opinion that the Olympians on the 76 or other less high-profile routes is acceptable if needs must because there is no stipulation that modern, accessible buses should be used on these routes.

Elsewhere, 2582 and an unidentified Myllennium found their way onto the 699 for the afternoon peak journeys. The Bendis are now making appearances on the route in the city centre so they can presumably also be used on 699 lates from now on.

RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot
Just looking at the Liverpool Echo on line and there is a report of an Arriva Bus and a car having a crash on Menlove Avenue yesterday afternoon, everybody appears to be ok other than a couple of bumps and bruise so on this occaision I would say it would be safe to ask if anybody know what bus it involved. Thanks.

My brother said he saw the accident yesterday and that it was on allerton road and involved 2 buses an ALX400 on the 86 and a marshall dart on the 68 and the ALX400 was quite badly damged.

RE: Arriva North West - Speke Depot
The bus in question was 4129, 4125 is in normal livery with no ad and the other advertisers were all in service way into the evening.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.
