JPT Bus Company
RE: JPT Bus Company
Oh right I see, just seemed odd with JPT actually having stickers on their buses promoting their FB page but then being deleted (I haven't seen the stickers recently so maybe they have been removed)

Have seen the JPT Facebook stickers on the buses in the last week or so, so don't think they've removed them from the buses.

RE: JPT Bus Company
Really? Perhaps because I am used to them I am not actually looking out for them.

I am sure some of the newer Enviro's don't have them on, do they?

Not all the buses have the Facebook stickers on. I know the white Primo what always seems to do the evening 169 trips dosen''t have any on the sides, infact it dosen't even carry any daysaver stickers.

Do they even have any of their Enviro's left?

Thanks,

The very smart looking Enviro400 went some time ago, think it's with Ensign now. The funny thing is JPT are still using it as their profile pic on Facebook - then again I suppose a photo of one of the NC Olympians doesn't quite have the same appeal LOL

Indeed! Though personally I would deem their use of that image 'false advertisement' now.

Thanks,

RE: JPT Bus Company
JPT have announced a few route changes and new routes, which will take place in April.

The 157 is a new route running between Hollin and Manchester via Middleton, Rhodes, North Manchester General Hospital and Rochdale Road, which will see JPT return to Hollin during the day Mon-Sat after losing the 129 (still serve Hollin with the eve/Sun 164). Route should compliment the 156 route too, which will resume a full service via Langley.

Another new route is the X81, although there are no details of the route yet. Given the numbering, it could be some kind of competing route to First's 81/81A.

JPT have gained the Sunday evening 98 service from First and also a journey on the 270 between Wythenshawe and Trafford Park (possibly the current GB Coaches journey). They will also be bringing back the night bus service on the 17.

RE: JPT Bus Company
Good for JPT, Hollin is terribly under-served with a half hourly service to Middleton. People there appear to have to treck to the 17 or 163 for a half decent service, but competing against a subsidised route may not be easy.

JPT may struggle in Langley against First, is there that much demand to the hospital to sustain a half hourly service? Not a rhetorical question I am seriously interested.

Is the 17 nightbus tendered or commercial? I am assuming commcercial.

The X81 does indeed sound like an attack on First, surely they learned this from the 17 debacle. Using the same number will attract a more heated response than using a different number of varying the route a little. First really have to pull themselves together in Moston and should expand beyond the 81/88/89 if they want to serve the market competitively.
