The Wigan weekly rider is in addition to all other tickets being offered by Stagecoach, and is in no way intended to put another company out of business. Of course drivers will seek jobs with Stagecoach if maybe the pay is better, etc. Doesn't mean they are going bust.

Somebody's posted on the SLT thread on here saying that they're having a disciplinary hearing or something, one of the college routes to my college (633) has very recently changed from SLT to Wigan Buses Ltd too, we shall have to wait and see what happens! Smile

Fleet numbers, as usual with the hybrids are very difficult to see due to their grey colour & the bus colour. The MX10's & MX60's were difficult, then the MX12's were a little easier because the fleet number on the back of the bus is at the very top of the top deck but the new MX62's look even more difficult. Is the fleet number on the back of these?

The fleet number is on the front, just above the doors, to the left.

Details of proposed changes in January in the TfGMC meeting on 4 January:

*99 - Schoolday journey to be withdrawn
*105 - Re-routed via Cambridge Street, Boundary Lane and Greenheys Lane instead of Albion Street, Medlock Street and top of Princess Street
*390 - Proposed to curtail the route to run between Stockport and Hazel Grove with slight re-routing. (Poynton, Bramhall and Woodford no longer served due to Cheshire East Council funding being withdrawn)

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
Although we basically knew this anyway, the news of 31 new buses and around 30 cascaded vehicles for Wigan has been reported at http://www.busandcoach.com/newspage.aspx...tegoryid=0

This means that within a few months around half the buses at Wigan will be of Stagecoach heritage. And this is before any ex-First vehicles are even refurbished.

Just an update from Wigan of sorts, Volvo B10M trainer from the main Manchester fleet R969XVM was noted yesterday, Friday, training drivesr around Lowton/Leigh, there was about 10 trainee's not sure if these are just routine staff replacements or wether perhaps it indicates a possible expansion of the business come the end of March.

Not quite... there are six HE and six SH drivers at Wigan currently, whilst drivers there undergo ticket machine and CPC training. However some have been let loose today.
