Terrible news.

Coverage of the story from the Bolton News website. Sadly, the Bolton News website now say that the driver has died in hospital. The driver was named in previous article as Mike Hamza.

RIP

Maytree changes listed in the TFGMC Forthcoming Changes to Bus Network document:

From 2 October (confirmed on TfGM Bus Service Changes page):
*95 - Re-routed via Whitefield Interchange. Last journey from Pendleton to terminate at Whitefield instead of Bury
*502/503 - Evening journeys withdrawn

From 28 October:
*502/503 - All remaining journeys withdrawn
*597 - Times changed with the route to Laneside and Lowton revised. Alternate buses will run to Lowton or Laneside on a hourly basis while maintaining the half-hourly service between Leigh Infirmary and Leigh Sports Village

Will the 2 early and afternoon journeys still extend to Newton on the 597?

There was no mention of any change, so presumably, that will continue.

Thanks for that. Not surprised that the section to Lowton is being reduced as whenever I've seen the service in that area, I've hardly seen anybody using it.

Maytree have got a Facebook page, which they say will be used for 'service updates and ticketing'.

Looks like some of the hybrids that were in use on the 9 will be heading to Oldham for use on the Metroshuttle service, which will run every 20 mins.
