Merseyrail
RE: Merseyrail
It is one of the few units without sticky doors. I think they should fit switches so they are only opened when needed, sometimes, they're opened needlessly. This could also decrease dispatch times

RE: Merseyrail
Passenger door controls should have really been fitted when the 507/8s were refurbished. It would make such a difference when idling at stations in the winter, especially at cold, windswept locations. As good as it was, they missed three key things with the refurbishment in my opinion: passenger door controls, internal bins and window surround replacements.

Harold Wilson spent a lot of his time in and around Liverpool. He lived in Spital for a while and went to sixth form in Wirral and he was MP for Ormskirk and then Huyton. He was quite unusual in the fact that he was Prime Minister twice (non-consecutive) and won 4 general elections. I suppose if you are naming things, it's politically correct (no pun intended) to have a range of people from different walks of life. He fits the bill reasonably well.

RE: Merseyrail
Glad I just caught your message before going looking for 002, MT Head. It's probably best to wait for confirmation then that it is in fact in service. The date seems to have been put back a frustrating number of times.

RE: Merseyrail
Tries to get a glimpse of it today, only for it to be blocked off by my least favorite unit - 508130 Sad hope Monday is the day (finally).

West Kirby 6 car was a great pair tonight - 507009/507004 Smile

Not a fan of 508130 either, seems to be weak and unreliable. Second only to 508114, loathe that set.

Ah, the two football 507s, named at the same time. They were paired on their first day in service following the namings on the Ormskirk line.
