November's changes: Service 555 Lancaster – Carnforth – Keswick From 4 November 2024, Stagecoach will revise the timetable, adjusting journeys for the winter period. Service 755 Morecambe – Carnforth – Windermere From 4 November 2024, Stagecoach will revise the timetable, adjusting journeys for the winter period. Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre services Service 21 Cleveleys – Blackpool – St. Annes From 18 November 2024, Transpora will revise the route and timetable to operate between Cleveleys and St. Annes on schooldays only, withdrawing from the section between Fleetwood and Cleveleys. West Lancashire services Service 319 Trainlink Skelmersdale – Headbolt Lane – Kirkby From 10 November 2024 Stagecoach, on behalf of Lancashire County Council, will revise the route in Skelmersdale, adjusting the service to operate direct via Neverstitch Road to the War Memorial, no longer serving School Lane. Customers can continue to access the service at bus stops on Neverstitch Road. The service will observe all bus stops throughout the whole route. This change is required to restore service reliability to ensure connections with trains at Headbolt Lane Railway Station in Kirkby. The recently introduced combined integrated bus / rail ticketing continues to be available, improving through travel to/from Liverpool Merseyrail and the wider rail network. Hyndburn services Accrington Local Bus Service Revisions Earlier in the summer, Lancashire County Council stepped in to support local bus services in Hyndburn operated by Pilkingtonbus. A review of this bus network has now been undertaken to assess the routes with an aim to create new and enhanced sustainable public transport links within the local area. From 25 November 2024, following recent public engagement, Lancashire County Council, in partnership with local bus service providers, and utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, will revise the routes and timetables to increase service levels to generally hourly during the daytime, by filling in current gaps in the timetables and introduce a Saturday service on most routes. Also improve local links to Accrington Railway Station offering greater connectivity onto the wider public transport network Service A1 Clayton-le-Moors – Dill Hall – Accrington – Fern Gore – Green Haworth This new service will partially replace elements of current local bus Services 1, 2, 5, 8 & 11. Operating generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime, continuing to Green Haworth every two hours, the new service will operate between Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington and Fern Gore/Green Haworth via Dill Hill First Avenue, Queens West Road, Milnshaw Lupin Road and the Railway Station. Certain schoolday journeys will additionally serve Mount Carmel RCHS, partially replacing School Services 867 & 869. Pilkingtonbus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service A2 Accrington – Dill Hall – Church Kirk This new service will partially replace elements of current local bus Services 2, 5 & 8. Operating generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime, the new service will operate between Accrington and Church Kirk via Hyndburn Road, Dill Hill Buckingham Grove and Dill Hall Lane. Pilkingtonbus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service A3 Accrington – Barnfield – Laneside – Accrington This new service will replace current local bus Service 9. Operating generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime, the new service will continue to operate an anti-circular route between Accrington and Accrington via Barnfield and Laneside. Pilkingtonbus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service A4 Accrington – Spring Hill – Broadfield – Oswaldtwistle This new service will partially replace elements of current local bus Services 1 & 4. Operating generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime, the new service will operate between Accrington and Oswaldtwistle via Railway Station, Spring Hill, Oswaldtwistle Mills, Broadfield High Street, Merlin Drive and Roe Lee Road. Certain schoolday journeys will commence from Church and West End and additionally serve Mount Carmel RCHS, partially replacing School Services 867 & 869. Pilkingtonbus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 15 Accrington – Rishton – Great Harwood – Whalley – Clitheroe Lancashire County Council will revise the route and timetable, amending the route within Great Harwood, between Harwood Bar and Towngate, to serve the Lowerfold area of the town and between Clayton-le-Moors and Accrington, to operate via Dill Hall, passing St. Christopher's CEHS and Accrington Academy. This will operate in conjunction with new bus Service A1, to further enhance links through this area. The timetable will be revised, with the addition to the extra schooldays only journey from Rishton War Memorial to Accrington, replacing Service 869, for St. Christopher's CEHS students. Holmeswood Coaches and Pilkingtonbus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Replaced Local and School Bus Services The following current Accrington Local Bus Services will be withdrawn and replaced by the above new services: Service 1 – Clayton-le-Moors-Accrington-Oswaldtwistle; Service 2 – Dill Hall Circular; Service 4/4B – Oswaldtwistle Merlin Drive Circular; Service 5/8 – Dill Hall/Church/Spring Hill Circular; Service 9 – Barnfield Circular; Service 11 – Fern Gore Circular; and School Services 867 & 869. Burnley and Rossendale services Service X43 Burnley – Rawtenstall – Manchester From 16 November 2024 Transdev's Burnley Bus Company will revise the timetable, temporarily introducing additional journeys for the duration of Manchester Christmas Markets event to provide additional capacity for customers. The standard timetable will be restored from 22 December 2024. |

December's changes: Lancaster services Service 42 Lancaster – Garstang – Poulton – Blackpool From 16 December 2024 Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, will revise the timetable, adjusting the 0751 Saturday morning journey from Great Eccleston to Lancaster to commence from Poulton at 0737. Minor amendments Service 49 Lancaster – Halton – The Kellets - Carnforth – Warton – (The Yealands – Silverdale) From 16 December 2024 Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, will revise the timetable, extending certain early morning journeys to commence from Silverdale to provide additional travelling opportunities from Silverdale and The Yealands, coordinated with the revisions to Service 51. The following journeys will be adjusted: The 0720 Monday to Friday journey from Warton to Lancaster will commence from Silverdale at 0655 and operate via The Yealands. The 0923 Monday to Saturday journey from Warton to Lancaster will commence from Silverdale at 0858 and operate via The Yealands. Service 51 Carnforth – Warton – The Yealands – Silverdale From 16 December 2024 Lancashire County Council will revise the route and timetable. Following a review of the service and engagement with local representatives and Parish Councils, these revisions will be introduced to improve journey times and connections with trains at both Silverdale and Carnforth, to Lancaster and Barrow. The general daytime service will continue to operate as per the current route between Carnforth and Silverdale, with peak time journeys adjusted to operate through Silverdale village in a clockwise circular direction to allow for the additional and improved train & bus connections, coordinated with the extended Service 49 journeys provided by Stagecoach. Stagecoach will continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. |

Christmas & New Year Arrangements: Passengers are reminded that there will be no bus services running in Lancashire on Christmas Day, but on Boxing Day and New Year's Day some commercial bus companies will run a limited service. Before travelling, it is advisable to check with your local bus company or Traveline to ensure that your journey is running over Christmas & New Year. I have noticed Vision and Holmeswood operate services within the Preston PlusBus area but they aren't listed as being signed up to the scheme, so those two operators winning contracts can put some people at a disadvantage. |

We are looking forward to bringing these services into our Fylde Villager Network to allow our customers both old and new, excellent and reliable transport links throughout the Fylde Coast. More information will be released over the coming months to allow a seamless transition between the current operator and ourselves but rest assured we are working hard in the background to get everything in place ready to provide you with the best possible service we can. This expansion into Local Service operation would not be possible without the support of our excellent team of staff!!! January 2025 changes: Preston services Service 119 Preston - Leyland – Chorley From 2 January 2025, Lancashire County Council will revise the route and timetable, restoring the service to operate its normal route around the Broadgate area of Preston. Following the end of the flood defence road closure works, the service will operate its clockwise circular route through the area again serving South Meadow Lane, Wolseley Road and Broadgate, to both Preston and Chorley. RS Tyrers will continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. South Ribble services Service 111 Preston - Leyland From 19 January 2025, Stagecoach will revise the timetable, with minor adjustments to the Lower Penwortham Middleforth Garage timings to improve service reliability. Service X2 Preston – Southport – Liverpool From 19 January 2025, Stagecoach will revise the timetable, with minor adjustments to retime some Mon-Fri PM trips to improve service reliability. |

February's changes: Ribble Valley Services Service C2 Clitheroe Town Service From 1 February 2025, Vision Bus will take over the operation of this service from Holmeswood Coaches on behalf of Lancashire County Council. There will be no changes to the route or timetable, just a change of service provider. Service 15 Clitheroe – Whalley – Great Harwood – Accrington From 1 February 2025, Lancashire County Council will revise the timetable, introducing a new two hourly Sunday & Bank Holiday daytime service. Vision Bus will take over the operation of this service from Holmeswood Coaches on behalf of Lancashire County Council. There will be no changes to the route or the Monday to Saturday daytime timetable, just the new Sunday service and a change of service provider. The extended journeys will operate as follows: Northbound 0905 Carnforth to Kendal via Warton (0908), Yealand Conyers (0914), Silverdale (0920), Arnside (0930), Milnthorpe (0945) and Levens (0952) arriving Kendal at 1030. 1410 Carnforth to Milnthorpe via Warton (1413). Other revisions include revising later Saturday afternoon journey times, with Sunday service revised to operate approximately between 0900-2000. Service 8 Preston – Moor Nook The timetable will be revised, adjusting several journeys to improve overall service reliability. Other revisions include reducing the number of Monday to Saturday early morning journeys, reducing Sunday early morning and afternoon journeys and Sunday later evening journeys withdrawn. Service 16 Preston – Farringdon Park The route and timetable will be revised to remove the Monday to Friday extended journeys through to the Railway Station to allow for additional peak journeys. Other revisions include adjusting several journeys to improve overall service reliability, with Saturday early evening journeys revised, Sunday early morning and later evening journeys reduced. Service 19 Royal Preston Hospital – Preston – Portway P&R – Larches Service 19A Royal Preston Hospital – Preston – Portway P&R – Lea Service 19S Royal Preston Hospital – Sharoe Green Business Centre Shuttle The route and timetable will be revised, renumbering the services as follows: Service 19A (Monday to Friday am shuttle bus) will be renumbered Service 19S. Service 20 will be renumbered Service 19A. Other revisions include adjusting journey times to meet demand and improve overall service reliability. Service 23 Preston – Royal Preston Hospital – Fulwood Asda The timetable will be revised, adjusting journey times to meet demand and improve overall service reliability. Service 31 Preston – Savick – Lea The timetable will be revised, adjusting journey times to improve overall service reliability. The Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday journeys will continue to operate on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 35 Preston – Tanterton The timetable will be revised, adjusting journey times to meet demand and improve overall service reliability. Service 43 Preston – Cottam – Royal Preston Hospital Service 44 Preston – Ingol – Cottam Service 48 Preston – Holme Slack – Fulwood – Royal Preston Hospital Lancashire County Council will revise the Sunday route and timetables of these services, extending Service 44 from Ingol through to Cottam, to interwork with Service 43 to double the number of journeys through the Cottam area, and extending Service 48 from Fulwood Asda through to Royal Preston Hospital. Preston Bus will continue to operate these services on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Tendered Bus Service Revisions From 30 March 2025 Lancashire County Council, utilising funding from HM Government through our Bus Service Improvement Plan will introduce revisions to tendered bus services linking throughout the Preston, South Ribble and Chorley area. Following public engagement at the end of 2024, several timing adjustments have been made to the initial proposals. The following bus services revisions will be introduced: Service 110 Preston – Lostock Hall – Leyland – Eccleston – Standish – Wigan The county council will introduce this new service, creating new links through Walton Park and replacing the extension of Stagecoach's Service 111 journeys from Leyland to Wigan. Maintaining the Preston, Leyland & Wigan direct bus service, this new service will operate between Preston and Wigan via Walton Park, Lostock Hall, Farington Moss, Leyland, Eccleston, Wrightington Bar and Standish. The service will still operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime. Holmeswood Coaches Ltd will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council and in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester between Standish and Wigan. Service 112 Preston – Bamber Bridge – Clayton Brook – Leyland – Midge Hall The county council will revise the route and timetable, amending the service to terminate at the eastern end of the new Centurion Village at Midge Hall and amending the route through Leyland Town Centre. As the new Centurion Village develops the service will be further adapted to serve more of this emerging community. The section through Wymott, Croston and Bretherton will now be served by new Service 115 – see below. Another minor route amendments are in Clayton Brook, adjusted to serve A6 Preston Road between Walton Summit and Clayton Brook, and then operate to the same clockwise circular route looping around Clayton Brook Road and through Clayton Brook village both towards Preston and Leyland. This service will continue to operate between Preston and Midge Hall via Frenchwood, Walton-le-Dale, Bamber Bridge, Walton Summit, Clayton Brook, Clayton Green and Leyland. The service will still operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime and combine with Service 114 to operate every half hour between Clayton Brook and Leyland. Holmeswood Coaches Ltd will continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 114 Chorley – Clayton Brook – Leyland – Penwortham – Preston The county council will revise the route and timetable, extending the service through from Leyland to Preston via Farington Moss and Penwortham partially replacing Service 119. To facilitate the extension to Preston, the route through Leyland will be adjusted between Clayton-le-Wood and Tesco to operate via A49 and Church Road, before continuing past the Gables and then as the current Service 119 route to Preston. Vice versa in the opposite direction. This will maintain the cross Leyland public transport links between wider areas of Leyland with Chorley. Another minor route amendment is in Clayton Green, adjusted to serve Wood End Road in both directions, no longer serving Back Lane, with new stops installed on Sheep Hill Lane. This service will operate between Chorley and Preston via Chorley Hospital, Whittle-le-Woods, Clayton Brook, Clayton-le-Woods, Leyland, Farington Moss, Whitestake, Penwortham and Broadgate. The service will operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime and combine with Service 112 to operate every half hour between Clayton Brook and Leyland. RS Tyrer Ltd will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 115 Chorley – Buckshaw Village – Leyland – Croston – Longton – Preston The county council will introduce this new service, partially replacing Services 12, 112 & 119 to create a new cross borough public transport link between Chorley, Leyland and Preston. Following long standing requests from local communities, new Service 115 will link Croston, Bretherton, South Ribble's Western Parishes to both Chorley and Preston. This new expanded service will operate as current Service 119 route between Chorley and Leyland, then replacing the curtailed Service 112 through Wymott, Croston and Bretherton, continuing to Much Hoole, Walmer Bridge, Longton and finally replacing Service 12 through to Preston. This will facilitate new direct transport links from all these communities to Preston, Leyland, Chorley Hospital and Chorley Town Centre. This service will operate between Chorley and Preston via Chorley Hospital, Buckshaw Village, Leyland, Moss Side, Wymott, Croston, Bretherton, Much Hoole, Walmer Bridge, Longton, New Longton and Penwortham. The service will operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime. Vision Bus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 117 Chorley – Weld Bank – Chorley The county council will revise timetable, with adjustments to improve overall service reliability and timed around Service 115. The service will continue to operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime. Vision Bus will operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 118 Chorley – Lower Burgh – Chorley The county council will revise timetable, with adjustments to improve overall service reliability and timed with Service 114. The service will continue to operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime. RS Tyrer Ltd will continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Service 119 Chorley – Buckshaw Village – Leyland – Penwortham – Preston The county council will withdraw this service and it will be replaced by the introduction of new Service 115, between Chorley and Leyland, and the extension to Service 114, between Leyland and Preston. Service 12 Preston – New Longton – Longton Stagecoach will withdraw this service and it will be replaced by the introduction of new Service 115. Service 111 Preston – Lostock Hall – Leyland – Moss Side Stagecoach will revise the route and timetable to remove the extension between Leyland and Wigan. This section of the route will be replaced by Lancashire County Council's new Service 110.
