RE: Upcoming service changes in Merseyside
Posters have gone up at stops along Princes Parade for a new service - LW1. It's a Merseytravel supported service linking Liverpool ONE with the new Isle of Man terminal. Service is roughly every 30 minutes between 10am and 7pm daily with a gap around the middle of the day. Apparently starts 1st July, but no details on Merseytravel website yet

Surely that is such a colossal waste of money through the day? Surely you'd just run trips at times to meet the ferry?

Has now appeared on Isle of Man Steam Packet Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/isleofmansteampacket

Quote:???? Stagecoach Merseyside launches new bus service for Isle of Man Ferry Terminal in Liverpool ????
From today (July 1st), Stagecoach Merseyside in conjunction with Liverpool City Council will operate a bus service between the new Liverpool terminal at Princes’s Half-Tide Dock and the Liverpool One Bus Station, with a schedule as follows:
- 1st July - 20th July: 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:30
- From 21st July: 07:00 to 19:30
- Starting November: Available on Saturdays and Sunday only, aligned with future Manxman ferry schedule.
Single adult fares are £2 and single child fares are £1.
For the full timetable and information visit the Stagecoach website here: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/.../new-bus-service...
Alternatively, you can read Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire's X (formerly Twitter) post: https://x.com/StagecoachMCSL/status/1807749704819646468

Also https://www.stagecoachbus.com/news/merse...-wdhqcVigQ

If you click through to the timetable, the heading has "Liverpol"

Mananann usually arrives at Liverpool around 09.45 and departs 11.15 and then arrives 17.30 and departs at 19.00 subject to tides, weather etc and somedays Manannan only does the afternoon roundtrip.

Maybe this bus and driver and some school runs before 10.00 and in the afternoon?

Is this fully commeercial or is it part udnerwritten by the Isle of Man Steam Packet? My guess is that the Isle of Man Steam Packet probably have a financial interest for the benefit of foor passengers to the Isle of Man. Note that Northern Rail run a service Lancaster to from Heysham port around lunchtime inconnection with foot passengers for the Heysham daytime round trip Douglas to from Heysham by Manxman.

A2B have won the 811 back from Selwyns. Good job really as Selwyns have ran it like absolute cowboys, regularly missing out parts of the route.
