RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Stagecoach have posted their summer and post-summer changes. Summer changes will see the holiday timetables coming in with some services having an overall reduction of frequency on Monday-Saturday journeys. Post-summer changes will see the normal frequencies restored. In addition, the 56 (Higher Blackley-Manchester circular) will be withdrawn, the 147 is reduced to half-hourly with extra journeys on the 143, while the 201/203 are increased to every 10 minutes on each route. https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and...-july-2022 https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and...ember-2022 |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Some details about the number of services that are being proposed to be withdrawn in October 2022. This is being put down to the withdrawal of government funding to help bus services during the Covid pandemic. They are mainly First and Stagecoach service with some from others, such as Diamond and Transdev. Several services are being put out to tender, which may mean the current operator will continue to run the service on behalf of TfGM. Deregistered and put out to tender:
Deregistered and direct award:
Deregistered and no action taken:
Frequency reductions/journeys withdrawn
Route curtailments

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
The 8 curtailment to St Mary's Gate will just kill this long-running service. As it currently provides excellent connections to Megabus, Metrolink and Other Local Services. It a bad decision by whoever suggested it. |

Maybe the choice was truncate the service or reduce the frequency? |
