Some details from Stagecoach about the 34/34A and 250 changes. The 250 will be reduced to every 10 minutes, while most journeys on the 34A are withdrawn, only running early weekday mornings. So, Worsley-Manchester will reduce to half-hourly as service 34 only.

The X57 seems to change every month. The lack of consistency must impact on the ability of this route to develop.

Not sure if anyone knows, but when did GMPTE cease printing the weekly bus/ tram changes? Used to be an A4 sheet listing summary of the revisions. I religiously called into the office in Pic Gardens to collect it every week. Not sure if I kept them!

Have spotted posters up in Oldham bus station in the past but wouldn't be surprised if they've stopped over the last 18 months due to the short notices for some changes.

Meanwhile, changes to First West Yorkshire service 587 from Monday (1 November).

The service will be taken over by CT Plus on a temporary basis, who will run the service on behalf of First. First tickets will be available to buy and use on the service. This applies to the Monday-Saturday journeys. Sunday journeys continue to be operated by Transdev (Team Pennine).

Can’t see it as the government and local authorities are subsidising the upgrade of buses that would fall fowl of the new charges.
I suspect the driver shortage and low patronage being the main reasons.

Can expect a lot of changes in April 2022 with changes to tendered services around Bolton, Middleton, Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport planned for next Spring, along with some changes in January 2022. Several tendered services in Oldham and Rochdale are changed with new routes and services proposed. And another re-routing/change to the 44 route.

• 607/608 (Diamond/Hattons): Services that were previously operated by Diamond were scheduled to be run by Hattons but were unable to run services due to shortage of drivers. After failed re-negotiations, the services were withdrawn.

• 516 (Diamond): Re-routed between Middlebrook and Horwich to run via Brazley
• 570 (Vision Bus): Service withdrawn and replaced by new circular routes 573/574.
• 573/574 (Vision Bus): New circular routes introduced, running via Sutton Estate, Ladybridge and Markland Hill, replacing existing services 570, 574 and 577.
• 574 (Vision Bus): Existing service 574 between Bolton and Markland Hill withdrawn and replaced by new circular routes 573/574

• 44 (TBC): Route and times changed with service proposed to be re-routed between Withington and Northenden via Mauldeth Road and Parrs Wood Road to East Didsbury then via 288 route to Northenden. Service also extended from Wythenshawe Hospital to Altrincham, partly replacing service 288.
• 125 Middleton (TBC): Existing service, operated by Stotts, running between Hollin, Middleton and Alkrington, is revised to run between Middleton and Heywood via Hollin Lane, Langley Lane and Birch.
• 129 (Go North West): Route and times proposed to change with service running between Middleton and Hollin via Boarshaw Road in both directions.
• 156 (Stagecoach): Extra Sunday daytime journeys proposed to be introduced between Manchester and NMGH

• 356 (Nexus Move): Journeys via Carr Hill Road revised to run every two hours (alternative journey). Evening service revised to run two-hourly and Sunday daytime service revised to run hourly with all journeys running the whole route.
• 364 (Stotts): Times changed with the first and last journeys withdrawn.

• R6 (TBC): New service introduced running between Rochdale and Milnrow via Kingsway and Ladyhouse, providing a bus service to Kingsway Business Park
• R7 (TBC): Route and times changed with service re-routed to serve Kingsway Business Park and extended from Castleton to Middleton via Stake Hill Industrial Estate and Boarshaw, partly replacing services 12/12A and providing regular links between Middleton, Stake Hill, Kingsway Business Park and Rochdale.
• R9 (Transdev): Existing R9 service, between Rochdale and Foxholes, is proposed to be withdrawn.
• R9 and R10 (TBC): New circular routes introduced, with service R9 running between Rochdale and Shaw via Turf Hill and High Crompton (existing 435 route) before continuing to Rochdale via Newhey and Milnrow (existing 408 route), while service R10 will run in the opposite direction.
• Rochdale Local Link (Nexus Move): Proposed to be withdrawn and replaced by new services R6, R9 and R10 and re-routed service R7.

Some of these changes are completely shocking and not well thought out by TFGM and network clowns, It will see an end to the 435 after being continuous operations since 26th October 1986, I initially had the idea for the 435 to be extended beyond Buckstones to Sholver via Grains Bar to make it easier to travel between Shaw and Sholver which is not possible without going into old first then back out due to the geography of the area separating them.

Also it will see the end of a direct service between Shaw and High Crompton to the Hospital instead passenger now have to go in direct to the hospital.

More of the April changes now showing on the TfGM website, along with those Go North West changes. Suspect there may be more to come on TfGM, as no mention yet on services such as the 1 (Bolton-Egerton), 84A (84/254), 94, 151, 411, 525/526/527, 537, 571/572, 573/574, 583, 584, 588 or 595.

One notable change is some reductions to frequencies on First routes, including the V1/V2, which will see weekday off-peak and Sunday journeys on service V2 curtailed to run between Atherton and Tyldesley only. Peak-time journeys on the V2 continue to MRI and Saturday daytime journeys terminate at Princess Street in Manchester.

Several of these changes will previously have been mentioned in the GMCA meeting documents (see Greater Manchester tenders thread), but now have been confirmed.

• 18 Airport-Eccles (Diamond/Arriva): Re-routed via Carrington, Flixton and Ashton-upon-Mersey instead of Stretford. All journeys run by Arriva.
• 44 (Selwyns/Little Gem): Service re-routed between Fallowfield and West Didsbury to run via Parrs Wood Road and East Didsbury instead of Withington and extended from Wythenshawe Hospital to Altrincham via Timperley, partly replacing service 288. All journeys run by Little Gem. Some schoolday journeys run to/from Altrincham Girls Grammar School
• 57 (First): Saturday daytime journeys reduced to hourly
• 81 (First): Saturday daytime journeys reduced to hourly. No changes to Stagecoach journeys.
• 82 (First): Monday-Saturday daytime journeys reduced to every 20 minutes.
• 88 (Little Gem): Little Gem journeys withdrawn. D&G Bus journeys remain unchanged.
• 125 Middleton (Stotts): Re-routed to run between Heywood and Middleton via Hopwood, Birch, Langley and Hollin Lane. Some schoolday journeys extend to/from Rhodes via Manchester Old Road.
• 156 (Stagecoach): Additional evening and Sunday journeys between NMGH and Shudehill to form a roughly 20-40 minute frequency (xx03 and xx19 from NMGH, xx25, xx43 from Shudehill).

• 184 (First): Evening journeys between Oldham and Grotton/Marsden withdrawn. Daytime journeys remain between Oldham and Huddersfield, however Sunday daytime short journeys between Oldham and Grotton are withdrawn, meaning a bus every 2 hours between Oldham, Greenacres, Lees and Grotton on Sundays.
• 217 (Diamond): Monday-Saturday daytime journeys run by Little Gem. Evening and Sunday journeys run by Stagecoach.
• 245 (Arriva/Diamond): Times changed with evening journeys running between Trafford Centre and Stretford only. All journeys run by Arriva.
• 247 (Arriva/Diamond): Times changed with evening journeys run by Arriva.
• 260 (Little Gem): Re-routed to run between Sale and Epping Drive. Services 18 and 280 replaces service 260 between Sale, Carrington and Partington.
• 281-287 (Little Gem/Arriva): All services run by Arriva with changes to early morning/early evening journeys.
• 288 (Little Gem/Arriva): Running between Altrincham and Airport only with evening and Sunday journeys being run by Arriva.

Monday-Saturday daytime journeys (hourly) will be run by Rosso and evening/Sunday journeys (every 2 hours) run by Nexus Move. Service to follow existing 408 route between Buckstones and bottom of Dogford Road, then up Rochdale Road before resuming 402 route from Oozewood to Oldham via Royton, North Chadderton and Royal Oldham Hospital.
• 403 (Stotts/Rosso): All journeys run by Rosso with service re-routed between Heyside and Oldham via Higginshaw instead of Royal Oldham Hospital. Additional morning and late afternoon journeys introduced.
• 408 (First): Withdrawn and replaced by services 402 and R9/R10.
• 415 (Go North West/Stagecoach): Early Saturday morning introduced. Monday-Saturday evening journeys to be run by Go North West. Stagecoach continue to run Sunday journeys.
• 425 (First/Stagecoach): Some weekday afternoon journeys withdrawn. All evening journeys run by First.
• 435 (Rosso): Withdrawn and replaced by services 402 and R9/R10.
• 456/458 (Rosso): All journeys to operate as service 458 between Littleborough and Rochdale via Hollingworth Lake, running half-hourly Monday-Saturday daytime and hourly evening/Sundays. Some early morning and schoolday journeys will run between Stansfield/Shore and Rochdale via Littleborough.
• 457 (Rosso): Evening and Sunday service introduced between Stansfield and Rochdale, partly replacing service 458.

• 520 (Diamond/Vision Bus): All journeys run by Diamond with evening/Sunday journeys re-timed.
• 533/541 (Vision Bus): Evening/Sunday journeys on service 533 withdrawn and replaced by new journeys on service 541 between Toppings, Bromley Cross and Bolton.
• B2 (Rosso): Sunday daytime service introduced along with one Monday-Saturday evening journey.
• B4 (Rosso): Sunday daytime service introduced along with two Monday-Saturday evening journey between Bury and Heywood (not via the Captain Fold/Hopwood loop). All journeys re-routed via Fern Grove, partly replacing service 494.
• R3/R13 (Rosso): All journeys re-numbered to R3, but running along the R13 route. Evening service introduced between Healey Corner and Rochdale.
• R4 (Rosso): Extended to Peppermint Bridge via Newhey, partly replacing service R5 and increased to hourly service. Ladyhouse no longer served (partly replaced by new service R6).
• R5 (Rosso): Existing service R5 re-routed to run between Rochdale and Littleborough via Milnrow, Smithy Bridge and Stubley, partly replacing service 456, on an hourly basis.

• V1 (First): Times changed with service operating every 15 minutes Monday-Saturday daytime, every 20 minutes Sunday daytime and every 30 minutes evenings between Leigh and MRI via city centre.
• V2 (First): Peak-time journeys will run every 30 minutes between Atherton and MRI via city centre. Saturday daytime journeys run every hour between Atherton and Manchester city centre. Remaining journeys will operate between Atherton and Tyldesley Interchange only, running every 45 minutes weekday off-peak and every 40 minutes evenings and Sunday daytime. Connections available between services V1 and V2 at Tyldesley.
