While Stagecoach have the big share of the routes now we have Abellio who already have a base registered in Manchester in case of Franchising and we can expect Rotala will put in for a lot of work as well

Simon Dunn has been quite vocal in the past about being against franchising plus they don’t really have the best track record running services. Infact it’s fair to say they are only really just finding their feet with the Bolton work - it’s took them long enough.

Just wait till Go Ahead move for all depots and they run the free buses currently so they are as close to the new system as any others there also RATP Dev and ComfortDelGro and HCT who will go for smaller depots. Would see Arriva going for it also with a team from London. Anyone who get in first can flip it and get out if it not for them

Doubt Go Ahead would go leaping into new depots in Mcr considering all the trouble they've had there.

They will probably have been in Kent as 'The Open' golf was on there in the last few days....it's back in Merseyside at Hoylake in 2023.

minor issues on one depot that known for hard liners. Others depots would not be same as lower costs. reason Stagecoach like middleton as it was never GMT.

I would hardly call a near 12 week strike a "minor issue"

I dont think any company runs a business plan of taking a depot on as a shot in the dark to "flip it if its not for them."....

It was anything but minor but the outcome means GNW will be able to bid for work or franchises on a much more even keel now because everyone is on one standard contract and the savings that needed to be made have been so by the time franchising comes into play the depot should be making instead of losing money.
