With new rolling stock it generally works better if they are phased in. Look at what's happened to Southport to Alderley Edge services with the overnight switch from 150s & 156s to 769s - frequent curtailments, cancellations and short formed services. Merseyrail will of course have the advantage that the 507s and 508s aren't going anywhere else and all crews sign them. |

It’s been May and December, although one year possibly 2012, it was a 12 month timetable. It’s possible, though, that for some reason, one year it may have moved to June. Before privatisation, there was the opportunity to make changes every 8 weeks, but since the timetable moved to Railtrack, then Network Rail, it’s been mostly twice yearly |

RE: Merseyrail
Prior to the April 1966 WCML electric timetable the summer timetable started in June, then March 1967 for the Birmingham area, thereafter usually May except for 1981 when it was June, although that must have been a late decision as the 1980 WTT had a May termination date, until the change to December. |

The December was to bring us into line with the Timetable change dates on the Continent , December being when most of the major changes where to take place , with the other change date for more minor changes . |

RE: Merseyrail
Any update yet on when 507006 maybe taken off the network for scrap? Is 507021 due to return in the next few weeks? 777010 made its appearance testing early evening yesterday, quite a lot of publicity made about this (being the first 'daytime/early evening' testing), with much more to come in the coming months. |

RE: Merseyrail
There are 2 barrier coaches that were created from 2 ex southeastern class 508/2 units, the coaches used were 64664 and 64707. 1 of the 2 coaches could possibly be coupled to the other 2 coaches from 507006 and uncoupled once the unit reaches its final resting place |
