Stagecoach Manchester
RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
At first many of the Merseyside S routes didn't track properly - they've only started doing so recently.

I think it depend if the app/data for the app knows what the timetables are properly for the S routes for them to appear properly, even if the ticket machines are set up correctly all along.

There’s several operators in Manchester that operate TFGM school contracts and while their regular tendered work tracks non of the regular school services do, even though they use ticketer machines.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
Are Stagecoach still painting the remaining buses into the new livery? I thought that might have been scrapped following the franchising confirmation, given all GM Buses will get the same livery at that point.

They may not take the buses anyway so maybe moved to other Stagecoach units so no loss painting them. Stagecoach may not get the current depots or routes so may just remove all buses and maybe replace with old buses few weeks before. depends how bitter they get they could even dump euro 4 buses

I'm sure by the time if/when franchising happens in South Manchester which is 2025 i think the date is, im sure a lot of the current deckers (08/58 plate) would of been transferred to other subsidaries of Stagecoach. Tender related services by Tfgm is generally 15 years also so sure they will be shipped out before Franchising anyway.

It will be good to see a more standard livery in Stagecoach anyway. New livery, beachball, new magic, old magic, 43 green electric, old green hybrid all around at the minute.

Repaints are probably progressing here at one of the most highest rates in the country I would say (if you include the new Magic livery).

GM is going to have little choice but to allocate much of the work to Stagecoach - assuming Stagecoach want the work. This is not London. Where else will GM find someone willing & able to provide several hundred buses ??

Depends how everything works. TFGM want to take over the depots, I wouldn't put it past them to try and own the buses as well and lease them to operators to run the routes.

Alternatively, London works a lot off leases. Depending on what notice is given for contracts, leases could be arranged by most operators. Yes Stagecoach have the buses but it depends on the spec wanted by TFGM. Don't forget, companies like Abellio are very interested and they have quite a network in London so have experience with this sort of thing.
