I don’t really see the 18 as an outer circular, more of a mess. It’s opened up some theoretical journey opportunities but a lot of the section beyond sale is just re-knitting of socially neccesary sections. The MCT 18 between wythenshawe and sale was finally picking up numbers even post lockdown, the rerouted section is just carrying fresh air. The section of 18 through brooklands has had so many changes of route numbers and destinations over recent years, I’d be surprised anyone uses or would rely on it long term other than to go to sale centre or the hospital. A true outer circle would be connecting say 409 with the 330 then the 11a, x5 or 23. Mostly radial main roads. |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Does anybody have any info or links to find out the winners of the latest round of tenders? The TfGM website says all contracts will be listed on the Government web portal but there is nothing found on there from any date, not even previous awards. Cheshire, Merseytravel, South Yorkshire, Lancashire CC etc tenders can be found but nothing for TfGM/GMCA. I know operators have been informed and drivers are out learning the routes so the info must be around somewhere. I must be obviously looking in the wrong place. |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
Nope, because it's commercially sensitive you'll only find out when the service changes are announced. |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
But even then, they're not listed where they should be. There is no trace of any TfGM tenders EVER being listed on that Government website. All other areas and authorities are. Even the new April ones. It's obviously not the correct link to it from the TfGM site. |

Isn't it likely to be released when the documents are uploaded for the upcoming Bus Services Sub Committee on Friday, 12th March, 2021 at 10.30 am? https://democracy.greatermanchester-ca.g...4394&Ver=4 Play City Bus Manager? It does not normally give a new operator either, If the Contract is up it normally stays Operator TBC For Blog Posts Containing all the latest in the local Bus Scene The 2002 Bus Blog Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, Updated regularly! Really passengers should be given as much notice as possible of an operator change, as it may mean passengers will need to buy a different ticket type which may cost more than the ticket they are currently buying. For instance, a Stagecoach weekly ticket is no use on a Diamond Bus and if you use two buses and one is changing operator and the other is staying the same, it may not mean all affected passengers will buy a Diamond weekly instead of a Stagecoach weekly. |

RE: Greater Manchester Service Changes
It's been suggested that Go North East are planning to send some Solos to Manchester for Go North West for some new TfGM contracts in April 2021. No details as to which services these are for but would imagine it could be for services that fit in with the rest of their network, so possibly some of the Middleton services like the 12 or 129 or perhaps the 94, which is being proposed to be merged with service 494 and run between Cheetham Hill and Bury. Stotts recently cancelled the registration for the service, which suggests a new operator. But, as mentioned above, we will probably get some more info in the upcoming Bus Services GMCA committee meeting later this month. https://www.flickr.com/photos/danielgrah...988512791/ |
