Thats a pity because they were good buses in service, comfortable seats and go like the clappers when you put your foot down. |

I remember driving a training unit on an assessment drive from birkenhead depot. From what I can just about remember of it, it looked like a longer version of the plaxton darts I think is the best bus type I could compare it to, it had a seriously annoying distraction device which when a bell button was pressed would sound like an air pressure release that in my mind is dangerous especially on an assessment drive because that alone can and did put off many candidates from applying. I think the fleet number is or was 8201 and worst of all it was sluggish, took almost 5 seconds for the parking brake to apply/release so in conclusion it was not the best vehicle I ever drove from that depot. The last time I had an assessment drive from birkenhead depot was on a normal service bus and was a much better driving experience ( vehicle fleet number 2515 ). |

8264 was out in Huyton on Monday, so I would imagine it’s not at Chester currently |
