RE: Diamond Bus North West
Is it known when the next batch of new StreeDecks will arrive at Bolton? no additional examples have entered service for a few weeks now.

40787 is tracking today on the 163 so looks like they’ve started again.

Big issue with the site is it’s got far too office space and the yard although it looks big some of the area isn’t suitable for parking so it would require some groundwork to make suitable. Other issue is knotweed!

There’s lots of rumours that Diamond are looking to move Eccles over to Bolton and run everything from there (as they have the space), either sell the Eccles yard or return it to goodwins (never found out if they own or rent the yard), but in all honesty the Eccles yard is a dump.

None of the rumours above have any truth in them including Eccles moving in to Bolton, Diamond looking to takeover former MCT Travel depot. Eccles yard is also owned, as Rotala acquired next-door & knocked a building down to expand the parking area.

The next batch of Streetdecks are to upgrade the 163 & are branded:

The latest batch should be 40775 thru 40789

Is it known when 40705 is likely to return (if it still is) from having its new roof fitted at Ballymena?

Will any more B7RLEs be returning to FirstGroup soon, since more Streetdecks are now in service.

Still quite a few in use around Bolton and Bury and they are still being used on 8’s and peak 162/163’s so cant see them going yet, saying that they can’t be seeing any further use by First when they do return - there knackered.

Its not just the B7s I've noticed that the 2 serviceable Scania Esteems are still in use at Bolton Depot and seem to be regularly in use on 8s for some reason despite probably just enough deckers being available.

I’m assuming Bolton is still short of vehicles then even with 70 of the 128 StreetDecks delivered ?

I’ve heard off a Diamond driver that there’s around 8 Streetdecks waiting to go back with Warrenty issues. I’ve also noticed a couple with defective destinations already.
