Diamond Bus have confirmed some of the proposed changes on their website.

They will continue to operate services 29 (runs between Boothstown and MediaCityUK), 65, 66 (which extends to Prestwich), 70 (runs between Pendleton and Eccles), 74/75, 79 (runs between Pendleton and Stretford only) and 607 (runs local Ashton-in-Makerfield service).

They will continue to run the evening Wigan-Bolton service but as 575 not 576, along with some early morning journeys from Wigan or Blackrod to Bolton (perhaps taking on Arriva on the 575 route).

The 682/683 changes will see the two service replaced by service 583, providing a Monday-Saturday daytime service between Leigh, Westleigh, Atherton and Hag Fold in addition to the Monday-Saturday evening and Sunday daytime service. Monday-Saturday daytime journeys will continue from Hag Fold/Atherton to Tyldesley via Shakerley.

The 715 will be re-numbered to 520 but Diamond will no longer operate the evening service. They have also lost evening journeys on service 34 and journeys on services 630 and 695. Services 27 and 73 will no longer run.

Rosso reporting that the 512 will be taken over by Vision Bus from 25 October. Should imagine the 513 will also be taken over by Vision Bus.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
There are some more quite major changes to routes in the Bolton and Wigan areas on the 25th https://democracy.greatermanchester-ca.g...rt%20A.pdf . TFGM officers acknowledged these are very last minute changes and apologised to the committee for such short notice changes on their tendered services.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
Some of the changes have started to appear on TfGM's website....although, it's slowly appearing and a lot still missing. Two 129 services meant the description of the new one is added to the route of the current one.
  • 8/593 (Vision Bus): Evening journeys on service 593 are replaced by service 8. Vision Bus will also run some early Sunday morning journeys
  • 41A (Stotts/Stagecoach): Withdrawn and partly replaced by re-routed service 335 around Dukinfield and extended 389 service at Yew Tree Estate.
  • 129 (Vision Bus): New service introduced between Farnworth and Higher Green via Little Hulton, Walkden, Boothstown, Tyldesley and Gin Pit, partly replacing services 551, 553 and 695.
  • 335 (Stotts): Re-routed in Dukinfield to partly cover the withdrawal of service 41A and extended from Denton to Dane Bank, to replace the withdrawn service 305.
  • 387 (Stotts): Service re-instated with slight re-routing between Stalybridge and Mottram and between Mottram and Hyde
  • 396 and 419 (Stotts): Service 419 is withdrawn and partly replaced by re-routed service 396, which will run as normal between Ashton and Hollins Road then via 419 route to Middleton. Hollinwood, Failsworth and Newton Heath no longer served.
  • 516 (Diamond/Vision Bus/Tyrers): Evening and Sunday journeys reduced to every two hours with Tyrers no longer operating the service to reduce the number of operators. Evening and Sunday journeys will be operated by Diamond or Vision Bus
  • 551/553 (Vision Bus): Withdrawn and partly replaced by services 20, 29 and 129.
  • 559 (Vision Bus): Service re-routed via Deane Church Lane and St Helens Road instead of Hulton Lane, which is served by service 20. Evening and Sunday journeys introduced, partly replacing service 551.
  • 570 (Vision Bus): Re-routed in Morris Green, partly replacing service 553
  • 583 (Diamond/Warrington's Own Buses): Evening and Sunday journeys re-routed to run direct between Leigh and Atherton to match Diamond's Monday-Saturday daytime route and extended to Shakerley.
  • 584 (Diamond/Stagecoach/Tyrers/Vision Bus): Evening and Sunday journeys reduced to every two hours with Stagecoach and Tyrers no longer operating the service to reduce the number of operators. Evening and Sunday journeys will be operated by Diamond or Vision Bus
  • 588 Leigh (Vision Bus): Evening and Sunday service introduced, running every 2 hours
  • 595 (Vision Bus): Evening and Sunday service introduced, running every 2 hours, partly replacing service 583.

  • 694 (Tyrers/Warrington's Own Buses): Evening and Sunday service introduced, running every 2 hours, operated by Warrington's Own Buses. Service will be re-numbered 594.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
nice summary as usual. i suppose the line 551/553 (Vision Bus): Withdrawn and partly replaced by services 20, 29 and 129 should also include 559 and 570 - lots of links lost in reality.

Strangely the 584 has always had numerous operators at the same period, operting tender journeys with seemingly no operator willing or able to win all the tendered journies. Im unsure why TfGM have different tenders for evenigns and sundays on that and the 516 but very few other routes.

I do wonder how the 594 (694) evening and sunday journeys will be promoted (nothing i guess). Daytime operator Tyrers are very unlikely to meniton on their buses about the enhancements and then the 2 hour frequency by Warrington's Own Buses will hardly be noticable to the general public. I hope its a success!

Will the new 129 have evening and sunday journeys to replace the 551 in part?

Some major changes in Ashton also with the 41 being axed and the 387 being reinstated.
I think Stagecoach are really struggling to make the 389 pay hence the extension around Tennyson Avenue. Simplest solution would be to continue it to Hyde like it used to.

RE: Greater Manchester service changes
No, the 389 to Tennyson Ave is as a direct result of the 41A being axed.

No it won't be because it never did service Newton Heath at those times - it terminates at Limehurst Farm evenings and Sundays.
