RE: Merseyrail
Have 508110 and 508134 had any parts removed yet prior to their journey to Sims metals or will parts removal take place at Sims? Thanks.

From what I've heard of Sims in Newport, any stock usually meets it's end very quickly after arriving....so I would guess anything useful would be taken off before leaving Merseyside

I don't think much will be removed from the units before they go for scrap because if you strip too much from them it'll affect the stability and weight so new acceptance certificates would be required

If anything's removed it'll be things from below the solebar such as traction motors as they'd actually be useful and worth keeping. On saying that though I'm sure Merseyrail has enough spare parts for the PEPs until withdrawal of the type has been completed

I don't really see the point or need to retain any interior parts like lights, seats etc. They'll only end up going in the bin when the PEPs are no longer around anyway

It looks as though there is a timetable change coming from the start of September.
All the Northern line resuming a 15 min frequency again, with the Ormskirk and Kirkby joining Southport and Hunts Cross with the increase in frequency.
The Wirral however seems that the 30 min service (with 6 car runnings) will continue for a good while, at least until the start of December by the looks of it.

One thing to note, it seems they have now removed one of the 6 car peak services on Ormskirk line during weekday peak. As a result probably of 508110 now being withdrawn.

When they withdrew 508134, the 6 car West Kirby peak service was cut.
Therefore, there should be no change in the number of units in "planned" maintenance or "saving on miles" off peak and at weekends (at least if normal service was resumed across all lines).

508134 has had parts removed, but I doubt 508110 has Had as much, if any, since it’s been withdrawn less than 48 hours

Has 508134 been moved from New Brighton then?
