The X6 StreetDecks have some route branding, such as this one.

Now, for a short-lived operation that we can no longer see.

I went onto Flickr and entered CalderConnect. Some of these photos point to this officially representing routes 589, 590 & 592. These cover a Rochdale - Burnley - Halifax triangle of sorts.

When first revealed over the Summer, it was suggested that 69480-5 would move to Halifax to work services 589/590/592, and that all would receive mauve/white/green livery. I then saw a report that 69477-9 would also be joining them, which given the length of routes, made sense PVR wise, with about 4 out of the 9 repainted by September ish. Buses mag now report 69482 as amongst those liveried, but on checking the recently updated uk-buses First Yorkshire fleet, it shows just 69482-5 at Halifax and only the latter pair liveried. In passing, I also note discrepencies between recent arrivals at FWY from East and East Scotland, regarding elderly Presidents and B7Ls. Finally, in conversation with an ex-collegue who lives in Rochdale, the lsast he mentioned (about three weeks ago), he was yet to see any Calder Connect buses in the town with sightings including older B7RLEs and 54 reg B7TLs.
Can anyone advise the actual situation with the CalderConnect fleet; does it include 69482 and is it meant to cover the entire route network or just short workings at the Halifax end?

Dentonian,
I think that if you go to the SOES website, (Sheffield Omnibus Enthusiasts) their West Yorkshire fleetlist may be more up to date.
Cheers Pete

SOES certainly looks more up-to-date than the other in this context, but couldn't find any reference to the buses brought in from First ops at opposite ends of the country (as mentioned in Buses mag FleetNews). I also didn't realise that the Tod-Halifax section alone ran every 10 minutes, so even self contained would need 11 buses - no wonder, sightings of CalderConnect examples in Rochdale are relatively uncommon.

Phil
Calder Connect Buses are 69477, 69480-5 so far. Another three are in the pipeline. PVR is 17 of which about 6 are usually DDs. Seven boards work into Rochdale on 590 and 3 on the 589 so plenty of scope for a green one to be there.

Of the cascaded buses:
From Midlands B7TL 32077/82/92 are at Bradford with 32078-80 awaited
From Scotland East B7TL 30939/42 are at Bradford with 31790/1 awaited Scania L94 61214-6/9/22/6/7, 62355 are at Bramley
From South Yorks 30561, 30905-7 at Halifax, 30562 at Huddersfield, 30563 30883/5, 30904 at Bradford, 37021-27 at Hunslet, 37028-30/2/3 at Huddersfield, 37034/5 at Halifax 37258 at Huddersfield and 31137/8 are due for Bradford and 31139/40 at Halifax
From West of England B7Ls 60912/3 66346/7 are due for Hunslet, B7TLs 32072/85 are at Huddersfield with 32071/86/8/9 due there and 32091 for Bradford. 32684/5 are due for Hunslet and B7Ls 60895/910/7/8, 61594, 66339 at Bradford
I think that's it - though there are six as yet unconfirmed Volvo singles due into Leeds.

Paul

It was working out of Hunslet Park a couple of weeks ago. It'll probably be on a similar tour to the one Arriva 4590 is doing in Merseyside. Although it won't be working from Keighley since it's now Transdev territory, there's nothing to stop it covering all the other towns and cities that were once served by West Yorkshire Road Car.

It is reported that some of the Electric Metodeckers for York Park & Ride have now entered service, with deliveries due to be completed in September.

A pair of LeedsCity Gemini 3s/Streetdecks (couldn’t make out if they were Volvo!) have just been making their way down Edge Lane, Liverpool, presumably in their way to Leeds. They look smart.
