RE: Arriva North West - Winsford Depot
The 15 year rule for Arriva Nw has gone, we are going to see them hold on to vehicles long. We are already seeing that anyway. |

Seems macc are having decker issues again over the past 2 weeks or so. Think 4490/4491 have been out in service. Macc have borrowed recently ALX400 decker 4421 & this week have also had VLW 4211 as well which seems quite popular amongst drivers. |

4421 was parked in Electricity Street, Crewe this afternoon - it appeared to have swerved off Edleston Road and taken out the shop awning and its two rear upper deck windows. Presumably must have happened a fair bit earlier as there was no police presence. |

Although the one that came from Telford was better than any of the Winsford ones, but that was slightly different anywsy. |

Think the best of the winsford batch is 2611 which had the seat frames repainted blue & the interior retrimmed in the blue check moquette which in my opinion looks better than the leather. It seems to me that winsford always get what's cascaded from other depots when they get new buses. Last new stuff they had was the mellor breadvans. But if they wind up with cadets from elsewhere it'll be no bad thing as they're quite well liked by drivers & passengers alike. Also appears macc are having issues with their Gemini deckers yet again. This week only 4490 has been out, a pulsar & VLW 4211 from winsford have covered. 4211 for an oldun appears to pull well & is still in really good nicker for its age. |

While I sympathise there other depots which haven't received new stock for five or more years. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Bolton (2013), Southport (2014) and Wythenshawe (2011) - and Bolton depot doesn't even have that batch of buses anymore after they were transferred to Merseyside. I can appreciate it's frustrating but unfortunately the depots that make the most money are usually going to get the most investment in terms of new stock Agree on 4211 though. Good bus IMO SK15 GZG
