RE: Merseyrail
Just noticed on the platform at Birkenhead North a smoking area complete with ashtray. Is this a one off or start of a new thing? |

Merseyrail should take no credit for this, they should be banning smoking not promoting it they must be one of only a few station owners who allow smoking on their platforms Cheers Rob Day Formerly 51537 |

While travelling to Ormskirk this morning on 507008 I noticed the manufacturers logo on the window saying the windows were made by Widney windows LTD. But on other units the windows are made by Beclawat. Just wondering why the windows are from two different manufacturers or have some units had windows replaced later in their lives? Thanks. |

Beclawat are on old company that supplied windows to BR and probably still do now. The droplight cab windows on Class 150s are made by them and have the logo on the metal catch at the top. |

Services have been suspended between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central since the start of service this morning due to electrical supply problems. A bus service operates from St Georges Plateau to Hunts Cross till rectified . |

Policy elsewhere seems to be to make announcements, but no face to face confrontation, so no-one takes any notice. |

Apparently this will be going on until Monday unless they can rectify the fault in the meantime. Network Rail are looking for the fault in a cable that feeds the third rail. That must be miles of cable to be checked between Hunts Cross and Central. Not forgetting the sections of line in Fulwood St Michaels Dingle and St James tunnels. |
