It was actually taking 60mins just to get from Shudehill to Oldham Street, it didn't help as apparently a bus broke down at Oldham Street/Great Ancoats Street junction. And, of course, the pollution caused by the congestion was a great contribution to Clean Air Week. Is there ANYBODY with active brain cells involved in planning these events ? |

Ironically it was supposed to be an 'official protest' to drum up publicity for the permanent pedestrianisation of Stevie square but all it actually did was alienate more commuters against the whole idea. If they had actually monitored air quality yesterday in that area they would have found it was well up on what it normally is. I'm pretty sure TFGM are involved in this clean air campaign?? |

And then there was Oldham.... |

RE: First Manchester
It will be interesting whether the Competition Commission gets involved as the existing Diamond Bus operation in Bolton/surrounding area's is fairly significant. Arriva, Stagecoach and Rosso seem a bit minor players as competitors in Bolton so maybe a bit of trading might have to happen before it all falls into place. I assume if this is all clear Rotala will merge this into the Diamond Bus brand, could be the start of an interesting move for Rotala in the North West too. Yep Oldham's last man standing for First and if First want to keep it and more importantly survive it might be transferred to/run by the West Yorkshire division although I reckon it will get sold off at some point although a long drawn out sale does no good to both staff and passengers in the end. |

RE: First Manchester
Having had an insight into how Bolton and Rotala run. Rotala really need to change the way the run if Bolton's going to survive |

RE: First Manchester
And Oldham may take the tender routes from Bolton as they also not part of deal. unless they have a plan to have a base. unless they reopen Rusholme if not been Sold |

RE: First Manchester
Have read on another forum that there is rumours of First reopening Rusholme to cover Vantage routes whish sounds plausible as there would be a lot of dead mileage if run from Oldham. |
