RE: First Manchester
Seen lots of E40D's & Streetlites operating the 41 over the last few days. In fact come to think of it I haven't seen any B7's or B9's on it lately at all. |

Anybody using buses on Wilmslow Road and being told that Stagecoach are Manchester s best Operator would think you were on illicit substances. This bus was barely 2 minutes late. I was stood opposite hospital for 20 mins and didn't. See a 42/B on either direction. Both inbound 43s were c12 late and diesel No hybrid s seen in either direction whether it be 42 43 or 111. Magical weren't stopping as they were full. |

As a generalisation, I'm not sure that's true, but my point was about localised differentials. People don't buy single fares for long journeys. You should be comparing Single fares for journeys of 4km (2.5 miles) or less; Returns If valid - usually not), DaySavers and Weekly tickets. In each case I'm taking the same Operator, but different routs/corridors run by that Operator. |

The only company I've seen do any sort of decent singles is Stagecoach with their £2 singles (after 7pm and for a short period last year on Sundays) and £2.50 flat fare after 12PM. This contrasted with my experience with Lothian buses in Edinburgh where they had £1.50 singles the last time I was there. Play City Bus Manager? Because in Manchester both stagecoach and First would rather sell day riders than singles. |
